Read moreI am writing to share feedback from my recent visit, as I believe constructive comments can contribute to enhancing the guest experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted at the hostess stand, but I was taken aback by the tone of the welcome. It felt somewhat uncomfortable when we were asked if we could afford the menu. I appreciate a warm and inviting atmosphere, and this initial interaction did not set that tone. Our server, JR, unfortunately, did not seem to display the level of hospitality one would expect. He presented the straws by dropping them on the table, which felt somewhat lacking in courtesy. Additionally, I noticed that while serving, he placed his fingers inside the wine glasses, which left us feeling uneasy about the cleanliness of our drinks. Traditionally, serving the ladies first is a common courtesy, yet my wife received her well done steak after I was served, and she was instead presented with my medium steak. This oversight was disappointing, and it was particularly frustrating that JR or the runner did not address it during the service. Moreover, throughout our meal, the table was not cleared in a timely manner. I found myself stacking the empty dishes in hopes of bringing this to JR’s attention, only for him to continue walking by without acknowledging them. I did enjoy my cocktail; it was well-balanced and likely crafted by a talented bartender. However, I was unable to finish my drink, and a good server should ideally check in to see if everything is satisfactory. Sadly, JR never inquired if I was satisfied with my drink, nor did he engage with us throughout our meal, which made the dining experience feel impersonal. Additionally, I found the overall atmosphere of the restaurant to be nothing special. It lacked the charm and ambiance that one might expect in a dining establishment, which contributed to the overall uninspired experience. I also noticed that the restaurant does not offer bottled water, which is somewhat surprising, and the limited selection at the bar didn’t fully meet our expectations for a dining experience called by them “fine dining”. When it came time for dessert, JR approached me for payment without presenting the check or waiting for us to finish, which felt rushed and inconsiderate, especially given the restaurant was at capacity. Lastly, there was an error on the bill where I was charged for a bottle of Chablis instead of a glass, which further indicated a lapse in attentive service. I also want to note that I have a knee problem, and during our visit, the elevator was unfortunately not available. This made it quite difficult for me to access the restaurant and impacted my overall comfort. As someone with over 20 years of experience in hospitality, including owning and managing restaurants, I understand the importance of customer service in ensuring the success of a business. I sincerely hope that these observations can be taken into account to enhance the experience for...
Read moreWe went to Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner several months ago. We took our six-year-old daughter with special needs during our week-long Disney vacation. We really wanted to love this experience, but it was our least favorite character dining out of the four experiences we enjoyed that week.
We had mixed experiences with the food. My wife started with the Castle Salad and I started with the Jumbo Shrimp and Braised Beef (more about this later). The Braised Beef was the best part of my meal. Flavor was great and it was very tender.
For our entrées, we both had the Grilled Tenderloin of Beef (filet mignon), both ordered to be medium. My filet was medium-well and the meat was very tough. My wife's was cooked perfectly and the tenderness expected for a filet. It was night and day difference between the two. Our daughter had the seared fish, which was dry. She usually loves fish, but barely touched her dinner. For dessert, my wife had the The Clock Strikes Twelve (chocolate mouse and hazelnut gelato), I had the Jaq & Gus (cheesecake). and our daughter had the sorbet. The desserts were all beautifully plated and we all enjoyed them.
Our waitress was amazing. She was attentive and surprised me with an extra appetizer when she could tell that I was really torn between the shrimp and braised beef.
It was our daughter's experiences with the princesses that made our dinner not so magical. Like all Disney character dining meals, the characters come out in "cycles." They come out to an introduction and then make their rounds around the floor. Once they make their rounds, they go to a back room for a break before starting the next round. We were being seated just as the princesses were finishing up a particular round, wrapping up in our seating section. Our daughter was still acclimating to the high-sensory environment and was not able to fully enjoy the princesses. Out of all of our character and cast-member experiences during our week-long vacation, the princesses at Cinderella's Royal Table presented with the least training and/or experience to engage with children with disabilities. Almost every princess appeared to feel a bit awkward with our daughter, who was stimming because of the environment. One princess even appeared visibility uncomfortable. Snow White was the most compassionate and even came back for a second visit to teach our daughter how to curtsy.
We were very excited when we were able to get this reservation. However, we're not sure we can recommend this place to families who have children with special needs. We might try this place again when our daughter is older if she asks, but we will pass otherwise and only recommend it to our friends with...
