The Smash Shack — Restaurant in Bayonne

It was my first time trying this place and first thing I noticed was that it was a little confusing combining this place with a Lebanese restaurant. The atmosphere was very lackluster, wasn’t to my expectations at all. My wife and I ordered 2 shack burgers, 2 orders of mac and cheese, fries, and loaded chicken with fries for $45.

The food was nothing above average. The mac and cheese and burger were very bland. I returned one order of mac because after trying the first one, I decided it was not worth keeping the second one. I spoke to who I think was the manager and he questioned what was wrong with it, i told him it wasn't good and that it had no flavor. He looked confused and he responded with “no flavor?”. It was clear to me that he was unaware of what authentic mac and cheese should taste like. After I explained myself again he smirked and said ok, and gave me my money back. I ordered the double smash burger and small fries. Got there waited a while no problem. But for food to come out the way it was very disappointing! The beef patties were tough, dry, and tasted so off and weird. Took a bite and spite out. It’s like the meat is premade and gets microwaved. The sauce on the burger was nasty. The fries were tiny very crispy and hard like they run out of whatever frozen fries and use the scrapped leftover and microwaved too to reheat. Like I waited that long for my food you could’ve actually do a decent job and make it fresh. I see similar comments of same complaints maybe it’s time to remove that whole menu from your restaurant since it’s not your specialty and you obviously haven’t taken the time for improvement after numerous feedbacks. I only spent 12$ not gonna make a big deal about getting a refund for that shitty as food but stop waisting ppl’s time and...

1st of this is actually the restaurant "Tarboosh". They just added a new sign and self ordering monitors on the inside. Okayyyy so If i could give this place negative stars I would!!! Now this is only in reference to the food. The spot looks fairly clean. They put up 2 " influencer" walls ( thats unnecessary fake grass wall with neon lights attached). Now to the food, this had to be the nastiest, over cooked yet under seasoned laziest container of warm trash. I ordered a lamb platter , and when I tell you I've had better food off a food truck. Like is yall Cool??Like please don't go to this place fr. I ALWAYS drove by and I wished this day I would have kept going....chunks and I mean chunks of green peppers and raw onions just sprinkled over ..whew chile😤..if it wasn't so late I would drove back and got my money back!!!
