Update: every other time has been great. Went today it was great. We have had several good waitresses. I think they got rid of the ones that we had bad experiences with.
What is up with this waiter. We have been coming to this Denny’s for a long time. But this time the waiter was very slow moving, and they were packed - so it was not a good time to be moving so slow….usually we get a glass of water, sweetener, sugar, creamers with our coffee. This dude was so specific - wanted to know “what” kind of sweetener. Brought out a little bowl with a couple of creamers and the sweetener packs and sugar packs - normally they have the little square glass dishes with a combination…they don’t have to ask the details. Normally I don’t have to ask for water, but I guess we arrived later than usual and they were probably trying to save time and dishes, and even when I did ask fo water my husband spoke up and said me too…and yet he only brought 1 water, my husband said Nevermind and was frustrated but I sent him back for the other. My husband asked for butter and jelly….and it usually comes in a little holder - both kinds. The guy wanted to know “what kind” and “how many”. My husband was getting more frustrated, and this guy was …wasting his own time, not just ours…the food was good, and I have had wonderful waitresses in the past. I even asked this guy if he was “new”, because I thought this was his first day, but he said “no”. The guy bussing the tables was an older man and he was getting after it, you could tell he knew how to work—-I was wishing he was our waiter. I don’t usually give bad reviews, and I don’t like to based on 1 visit, I’ve had wonderful waiters/waitresses in the past and we like the food so much better than any of the other breakfast places - it’s closer to home cooking. Most experienced professionals know to keep their hair up and they wear aprons, their appearance is neat. These young guys need someone to help them out and explain about the hair, I know no one wants to think about that hair falling in their food. We’ll just have to go in earlier, maybe we’ll get the better staff. I do recommend you go early, they do get crowded, parking fills up. Use your AARP discount if you have one and tip well - I’m sure they probably split tips and most of them work hard and deserve...
Read moreMy husband works from state to state and we have eaten at many restaurants over the last year. This is by far the WORST establishment we have ever been to. A dump! Never had a experience like this at any other Dennys we have been to. First we walk in at 11pm and the hostess has us and others waiting to be seated. She has very little customer service skills and just let everyone stand there while she conversed with a guy who was sitting near registers. (He did not work there and I never saw him receive any food) Couldnt figure out why we couldnt be seated right away as there was maybe a table or two of people. Then I realized that every single table and booth(except 2 or 3) were filthy and never had been cleaned. In fact, we sat down and ordered our food and it came to the table before the hostess came to begin cleaning some of them. After touching multiple dirty dishes from the tables...she went straight to the kitchen area and begin preparing a to go order without washing her hands. Literally customers were coming in, waiting for 5 to 10 minutes and leaving because they were never seated or attended to. Our plates and utensils were not very clean either so we got to go containers and left before even eating!!! There was one young guy (our waiter) who seem to have to do it all. My heart goes out to him because he is a hard worker and i am sure his tips suffer because of his lazy co workers and the service people receive at this location. I tipped him even though we did not eat there. I would like to add that the place smelled like a restroom. Literally. I went into the bathroom and that is where the smell is coming from. Its aweful in there. Locks dont work on the womens stalls and its not kept up. I gave it 1 star because our waiter was such a good guy and I noticed the kitchen workers get down to business back there. Will be calling...
Read moreNight time service was horrible. It was about 11pm on 3/15. It was my boyfriend's birthday. We walked in and both of us were tired and didn't notice the sign that said please wait to be seated. The waitress (pregnant lady)and two other staff (two fat women, one wearing red shirt and one with gray) were at the counter and just laughed at us as we walked passed instead of letting us know about the sign or to wait to be seated. When we sat, I overheard them talking about us and they had a horrible attitude and didn't realize we could speak English. I said to myself oh well, they'll still serve us, that's thier job. Then the waitress had went to another table to give them service and completely ignored us. That's when I got up and asked if we could be seen. Then my friend said "Rachel, no, we are leaving." As we left the pregnant waitress finally mentioned the sign, raised her voice at us and gave us attitude and kept saying byyyyyyeeee!!! With a big attitudinal want with the whole neck movement. I told her ," I see why you're in the position you're in." Then we left. HORRIBLE. How ever, we went to the Denny's down the road in the gas station and we're treated with excellent service by a nice man named John and the food was amazing. I was happy to leave a $10 tip and wish I could...
