Better than Expected.
Pinchin Crab has been around for a few years and I always drive by it when I'm in the Baytown area. On one rainy night when I didn't feel like driving into town, I decided it was time to try out this restaurant. One more reason I chose Pinchin Crab is that it is conveniently located near many of the hotels in Baytown and was 5 minutes from where I was staying. Pinchin Crab is a popular Family-Run business serving boli-in-bag seafood as their main attraction. The menu has fried fish and seafood as well as steamed and broiled options. I ordered for my meal a steamed crab and crawdad combo with cajun seasoning. The bag came to the table in about 15 minutes and it was piping hot when I opened the bag. The food was cooked to perfection and the level of spice was right. The crawdads tasted as fresh as they could and the crab tasted fresh. The bag also came with corn on the cob. At first, I thought that I did not order enough, but when I finished the bag, I was stuffed. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly and I had no issues throughout the meal. Overall a great affordable local option for boiled and fried seafood in the...
Read moreMy little brother and I decided to try eating at Pinchin Crab after driving by and making fun of the name a bit (Spanish).
The basket/platters for fried entries were about 11 dollars per and the ratio of seafood to fries were around 1:2. I tried the fish, shrimp, and calamari and all were pretty good. The waitress was attentive and servicing where she could. All in all the food is well above average and filling. I'll return at a later date to try their boiled options when crawfish season hits.
Extra: Spoke with a few servers. They were really friendly and we ended up talking about the name of the restaurant. Ms Gabby(?), the waitress, also agreed that the name was pretty funny if you think about it in Spanish. There seems to have been pronunciation confusion even among the Asian staff for /pin•CHin•krab/. I'm happy for their business after Whataburger replaced Richard's next door. They're...
Read moreAbsolutely love this place! I’ve eaten here three times now. The first time I bought the Juicy Special Combo. It came with snow crab, shrimp (no head), crawfish, sausage, corn, and potatoes. I added eggs to the order. For flavoring, I had the Juicy Special seasoning with the XXX spice level. It wasn’t as spicy as I had hoped at that time. Since my first order, I’ve ordered crawfish, black mussels, and shrimp. Same sauce and same spice level. I believe that they have improved on the spice level as it has gotten spicier each time I’ve ordered. The flavoring is amazing and highly recommended. I ordered the shrimp with the head once and didn’t like the texture. It was pretty mushy. I will only order the shrimp the with no head. Other than that, I love this place and look forward to ordering again. The staff is friendly and welcoming, which is...
