Brody's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Beaufort

A group of 20 of me and my friends came to this restaurant to celebrate the life of one of my friends' Mom. The group eventually grew to be 30 people, that included three children. We said outside tables were already set up when I arrived. Two servers were assigned to the party. They immediately explained that they were going to take orders for drinks. Before the young lady started taking orders the two of them looked at us and ask how are we going to need our checks. We told him that most of them will probably want individual checks. I, along with 3 others arrived 1st. We knew that separate checks was the best way to go because even the four of us needed separate checks. I suggested to the server that she write our names down without orders. I told her that because I have over 25 years of food and beverage experience from the dishwasher to the manager. I did not know what their method was to stay organized when people were constantly arriving and they were just taking drink orders from them. I knew we were in trouble when they brought the first group of drinks and instead of delivering them to the people who ordered them they were standing up auctioning the drinks off leaving it to the party to identify and claim their drinks. That is never a good practice. We waited for quite some time for our drinks, so a couple of us went inside to the bar and ordered our drinks ourselves. Granted, there was one bartender, she was very efficient. So the servers continued to take orders, for both food and drink as people arrived. Finally, the initial drinks that we ordered showed up at the table. They finally took our food order. I ordered six buffalo wings mild and an order of french fries. Although, we were the first to order, we were the last four people to receive our food. Since we had gotten there so early, we were very hungry by the time my food arrived. The french fries showed up, but not the wings. So, I shared my French fries with the people who came with me because by this time we were starving. We had travel to Charleston to attend the funeral in Beaufort that was 2 hours and at this particular juncture, we needed to eat. There was a hair on my buffalo wings, when they arrived, so it was sent back. They were very kind and asked me if I wanted another order of buffalo wings. I told them I did want the order remade. Also, I love wings and fries. Not...

We've visited several times and have always been satisfied with our experience. Tonight was far less satisfactory. We sat on the back deck and Jay was our server. He was very good, so I am exempting him from this review. First, on one of our orders, the baked potato was barely warm and was visibly old due to the brownish color of the inside of the potato. We asked for French fries as a replacement and the ff were not freshly cooked. On another plate, the ff were also obviously fried twice and not fresh. Some were so dark and hard they were inedible. Also, the burgers were not medium doneness as requested. Granted, it was busy because it was Friday night...but, I can't give you a pass for that. You should be equipped to handle a busy Friday night. I come from a family that owned seven restaurants, and we made it a policy that the kitchen had a quality control system. Nothing left the kitchen that wasn't perfect. I feel it is important for these things to be brought to management's attention, not just as a complaint, but so that improvement can be made. Eating out is a luxury for some of us these days and I want to spend my money on quality, not quantity. My family will probably return to your restaurant, but we sincerely hope the next time won't be the last time.

We went here for a work get together. I was not to impress. One the waitress I have to say was amazing. She was friendly kept us updated apologize for the delay etc. So we had a party of maybe 35 and a hour later there was another party that they said was to show. They def could not handle it.so half of the party was waiting out side in the front while half was tring to order. We start at 530 by 730 some of our party was still waiting to be seated . It took 1 hr to get a wrap and a sub. When we placed our order there was only 5 other people there. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap. But it was a bag of salad mix in a wrap with only about not even 10 little tiny pieces of chicken chunks in it couldn't taste the buffalo sauce. I had to open it up to look for the meat I didn't even eat it . I will say the wings did look good which is what alot of other people have ordered I should of went with that.
