Our House 2 — Restaurant in Beaver Dam

Four people in the restaurant including us when we came in we waited over an hour for our food two people came in 20 minutes after us got their food before us our kids received their food 15 minutes before us then our food came and it was terrible my biscuit was hard as a rock I couldn't even chew it tasted burnt the hash browns tasted burnt but had a great slime texture to it ordered over easy eggs they came medium hard halfway through my food I had the sudden urge to throw up at that point it was time to go how this place has four or five stars is beyond me my 42 years of life this is the worst dining experience I have ever had my 14 month old son dropped one of his toys on the floor the waitress picked it up and told us normally she just throws it out after she looked at us puzzled for 30 seconds trying to figure out what she should do with it I wouldn't eat there ever again even if they...

Went there for the first time since it was the char-haus. It has a very homely feel now, not trying to be fancy, just welcoming.

Anyway, I had the half smoked chicken. It was amazing. Like, I'm going to tell all my friends and coworkers to go here specifically for the smoked chicken, amazing. Had great color on the skin, and a strong but not overpowering smoke flavor, and surprisingly juicy for a smoked chicken leg. I let my kids try the leftovers and had to wrestle them away or they'd have been gone. My wife's chicken strips were cooked well as well, again surprisingly juicy for breaded chicken strips. And our food came out so hot we had to wait a while before we could dig in.

Just ate here for the first time. My wife has been here multiple times and raved about it. We arrived at 5:50 and at 6:45 we asked about our order as we still were waiting for our food.

The guy who was serving us told us he would see how long the order had been in as I mentioned we had been there almost an hour. He then told us after checking it had been 33 minutes.

His answer was they were busy and it is what it is. We waited another ~10 minutes and then our food was brought out.

The food itself was good. He never came back to ask how it was.

Service could have been way better. I understand being busy and all that but at least act like you care that the customer is upset about the wait.
