I spent the morning at this coffee shop. At first, it was pleasant and inviting. I loved the idea of this place, especially in this location. It is a gluten-free building, they have a cash-only grab and go coffee bar in addition to their specialty drinks which is smart and effective.
I ordered my go-to coffee shop beverage (Cortado) and a lemon/blueberry crumb cake (Gluten Free). I sat down to work on my computer and my order was brought out to me wish was pleasant as well. However, my drink wasn't made (technically) correctly. The milk was far too frothy for a cortado, but it tasted alright. I think the flavor of the espresso made up for it. The GF crumb cake was rubbery and, bluntly, had the texture of memory foam. Luckily, I am not gluten-intolerant so I don't have to deal with that on a consistent basis...but I have had many other GF pastries that had a much better texture.
As more people began to arrive it seemed as if the music got louder and even some deliveries came through the front door. It was all quite the ruckus. Didn't give me a work/study vibe that I was looking for today.
This is just my honest feedback, 4/5 for the effort. This will not be my go-to place in Beavercreek but it will be on my list for casual...
Read moreThe reason I'm giving a two star review is because I finally had enough of the morning crew messing with my milk. I'm lactose intolerant and I've been trying to order an oat milk matcha latte on door dash for quite a while but so far I've been given regular milk and have gotten very sick from it. I've gotten the cup, it has oat milk written on the sleeve, I've paid the extra $2 to get the oat milk, and yet I received regular milk. The funny thing is when I go in the store and order the same thing on the same day, it's actually oat milk and I don't get sick. I've given excuses for this as oh it's probably a new person, maybe they read it wrong, I waited a few months before ordering it again to see what would happen and I received regular milk. This has been consistent every time I order the drink through door dash in the morning. If I was actually allergic to milk and this kept happening, there would be legal trouble for I would assume that whoever was making my drink in the morning was trying to kill me. I don't mean for this to be dramatic but please stop messing with the milk of customers, some people can't handle regular milk and some are allergic. Other than that, the...
Read moreI really like this place! I get a large iced lavender latte if that says anything about me 😂
A few too many people from the combination of the bistro connected to it and the coffee house seating areas. I didn’t see any cleaning of the tables, and the tables weren’t put away, so I’m curious if they were COVID-19 friendly. The coffee is great! My husband loves his hot chocolate, it’s in a decently pretty part of town, and the servers were decently friendly (not over the top but not rude) the second time I went but the first time they were very friendly :) muffins were kinda dry though. Doughnut was good!
As a barista, I know what good coffee tastes like, and as someone who has work both corporate and small business coffee, I k ow what a good business looks like. They’re doing well, but might be trying to keep up as best as they can during this pandemic. Show them a little love and stop by :) they have huge...
