If you're seeking a culinary disappointment, look no further than Tsao Cuisine. From the lackluster ambiance to the uninspired menu, this restaurant fails to deliver on every front.
Let's start with the food. The dishes were bland and lacking any discernible flavor profiles. It's as if the chef forgot to season anything. Even the simplest of dishes fell short of expectations, leaving me wondering if I could have prepared a better meal at home.
But the disappointment didn't end there. The service was abysmal. The staff seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to the needs of the patrons. Our server was indifferent and bordering on rude, making the dining experience even more unpleasant.
And let's not forget about the manager. Incompetence seems to be the name of the game here. Instead of addressing the issues brought to their attention, the manager brushed them off with a dismissive attitude, showing a complete lack of regard for customer satisfaction.
Overall, Tsao Cuisine and its management team have a long way to go if they ever hope to earn a positive review. Save yourself the disappointment and...
Read moreLunch buffet is a great option, since COVID, that hasn't been a reality. I've had Tsao's 3 time since the lockdown, and each time, I'm left more and more disappointed. General Tsao's is an iconic Chinese-American dish for a reason, but this iteration has been lacking, both in the flavor and texture department. There's no crispiness from the chicken morsels, which is weird, since it's a fried chicken dish. The master sauce is bland, and it has no spice for a spicy dish. The sauce also has the consistency of rice water, which is still extremely thin, and likely contributes to the sogginess of the dish overall, which is also not traditional of this dish. The chicken is often overcooked, leading to thready-strands of chicken being what's left after you've chewed the bite for the last 2 minutes, which is mostly inedible from the rest.
Edit: came back twice since, it has improved, but still not quite what it...
Read moreThe buffet is the best in Dayton if you get there at 11:00AM. If you get there when it's later and slow, then sometimes it's good, someitmes it's bad. They have "Rock salt" shrimp where are breaded adn fried that are awesome. Their flounder (fried) comes separate from teh orange sauce so it's crunchy on your plate. Not a huge variety, but the general tso's is as good as most places have as a menu item.
Saturdays they have potstickers on the buffet with awesome ginger sauce.
I don't go for the variety, or the quantity, I go for the quality of the items on the buffet that I really like.
If I go at night I order either mala chicken or kung pao chicken, neither is all that awesome, but it's better than most of their competitiors... They make a Hot & Spicy chicken, it is to die for if you're not diabetic. ...
