We’ve been coming to this Dickie's for years and have always had great experiences with both the food and the customer service. Unfortunately, today was a completely different story, all because of one rude and unprofessional employee.
When we walked in, he gave us a flat, unwelcoming "hi" with no warmth or effort. We waited patiently while he finished helping another customer, but he never thanked us for waiting or made any attempt to be friendly. It felt like we were an inconvenience just for showing up.
We ordered our usual: the rib plate for $21.99, which has always come with six ribs in the past. Even on delivery apps, it clearly says the plate includes six ribs. Today, it came out with only three. When we politely asked about it, thinking it was a mistake, we were met with attitude and resistance instead of a simple apology or correction. After some back and forth, he added two more ribs, bringing the total to five. Still short of what we paid for.
The entire experience was frustrating and disappointing. After years of loyalty to this location, this one interaction completely soured the visit. We hope management takes this seriously and addresses the behavior, because no customer should be...
Read moreI don't think this place deserves all the hateful reviews it gets. This is Oregon, not South Carolina or Texas. Oregon in general lacks diversity of food choices, so you'll be hard pressed to find better BBQ unless you want to drive miles and miles away. As someone who had a dad from Louisiana, flavor is important to me. Dickey's will give you a BBQ fix if you need it, and at a decent pricepoint for PDX. Is Dickey's the best? Heck no, but it is definitely not the worst or even close to the worst. It's a mid-grade BBQ place. I WILL say, that the pulled pork is the most tender pulled pork I've ever had, so tender that even your toothless granny could eat it. The mac and cheese tastes good for just noodles and cheese sauce, but is definitely missing.....something. I couldn't do the fried okra, but that's not their fault probably, I guess I'll just stick to pickled okra since it's the only form of it that's not slimy apparently. The fries were pretty good and did not taste like dirty oil as some have suggested. The ranch sauce they make is awful, like on par with McDonald's ranch sauce - more tang than flavor, buy hidden valley and save your...
Read moreFirst tried this in Dallas, TX. Saw that one was opening soon in our area and decided to go to one in the next town (14700 SW Murray Scholls Dr, Beaverton, OR 97007) so our daughter could experience it. We submitted our order online to pick it up and when we got there were told they were going to fry the onion tanglers fresh for us and the rest of our order was ready. We were then ignored while they served other customers for the next 15 minutes, after which they gave us our order. When we got home we had been charged us for an extra drink we did not order or get, and were missing other items that we did order and pay for, including the onion tanglers that supposedly were the reason we had to wait in the first place. Not happy. Food was good but with bad service and being charged for items we did not receive I have to say you better make sure you have what you ordered and were not overcharged for anything. If I go again, I...
