Tried their new chicken sandwich. Pretty tasty though I wish it had more than just a couple of pickles and the bun with it. I've tried all the new chicken sandwiches in the last month, and while this is larger than previous offerings from KFC, flavor-wise, it still comes in second to Popeyes if you get a hot version of the Popeyes sandwich. If you're going for a Popeye's chicken sandwich, I've found you really need to go at a rush hour in order to get one right out of the fryer. If you get one where the chicken has been sitting for 10 minutes before they make the sandwich, it's not worth going there.
Re-visited again April 14 & 15, 2021. Ordered 5 chicken sandwiches. Size of chicken was exceptional in all sandwiches. Chicken wasn't greasy, was fried to a nice crispy crunch when you bite into it, and had a mild, tasty flavor. I still would rate this location's Crispy Colonel chicken sandwiches 5 stars, even though the bun that this delicious sandwich is contained in is really pretty awful. It's like they wrapped up a Bugatti with an old worn out napkin. On the same day, also visited a Burger King to try their new hand breaded just released chicken sandwich. In reverse order, their bun was excellent, probably the best bun on any fast food item I can remember eating. Light, tender crumb, with a hint of a butter, really exceptional, nothing at all close to the standard fast serve burger bun. On the other hand, the fried chicken itself was the worst piece of chicken I've been served at any fast serve restaurant in the last couple of years. Dry, over fried, to the point that about 1/3rd of it was inedible. I won't mention the name of the BK location, since I don't think it's fair to leave a terrible review based on one experience, but check it out later, as I will return to the same place to see if I got the one in a million horrible piece of chicken, or if this is what BK thinks is going to compete with KFC and Popeye's. Now if KFC could by their buns from the same supplier as BK, and use that bun on their new chicken sandwich, they will have rung the gold bell. But the KFC chicken is so big and tasty, it's worth getting even if you throw the bun away.
April 23rd. OK, one last edit for this review: Had a taste test with 3 friends of the KFC's, McDonald's, and Burger King's newest chicken sandwiches. The surprise for me was the chicken sandwich from KFC had a brioche bun, and that's different from the last time I received the "new" fried chicken sandwich from this location. After a little research and a discussion with the manager, it turns out that the last time I received this sandwich, someone used the wrong bun - not the new brioche bun, but a standard white bun, which was the reason I previously commented on the terrible bun that came with the new sandwich. The sandwich we just taste tested had the correct brioche bun, and the bun was delicious as was the chicken.
Moving on, we ordered 2 chicken sandwiches from each chain, one as normally prepared, and one plain with the bun and chicken in separate packages, and cut them all into 4 portions. In order of unanimous preference by the 4 of us, here are the results: Bun to bun, KFC first, BK second (but very close to KFC - both were delicious), and McDonald's a distant 3rd. Chicken to chicken: KFC 1st, Burger King 2nd (if you wait 10 minutes, they'll fry it fresh for you, and it's a world apart from the previous inedible chicken I obtained from the same location during a normal drive thru), and McDonald's a distant 3rd.
When eating the sandwiches as normally prepared, the results were the same: KFC first, BK 2nd, and McDonald's a distant 3rd (all of us noticed what we guessed was a strong celery taste to the McDonald's chicken seasoning).
Plain bun and chicken combined by weight: KFC, 205.4g, BK 193.8g, and McDonald's 172.3g. Photo left to right,...
Read moreWe ordered 6 items. We received 5 (the Popcorn chicken was missing). Of the 5, only 3 were edible (the 2 miserably small pieces of fish were cold & completely dried out and the chips were just as bad. We wondered how they came up with the complete order in less than a minute. The "Fish & Chips" were probably something left out of another sad customer's order an hour earlier!). In other words , through either ineptitude or unethical intent, 1/2 of our meal was stolen from us by the employees (either due to paying for what we did not receive or by supplying us with a sub-standard falsely advertised product).
After arriving home, I looked their store location up online. There I found that over 1/2 of the reviews for this store were negative. One review said that he went back the next day & asked for the item they didn't give him and the manager told him that he needed to have called the night before to inform them or bring in the receipt. From this point on, both out stories coincide. He HAD tried calling the night before but no-one answered AND the cashier had NOT put the receipt in the bag! I also tried calling as soon as we got back and let it ring 20 or 30 times before somebody hung up the receiver. I went through this 2 more times. Impossible to contact the manager to fulfill their demands. I also discovered that my receipt was not supplied either. These people probably don't answer their phone because with all the screw ups & unprofessional practices, they would be on the phone the entire shift!! I am going to try going by there tomorrow, but I hold no hope for receiving anything but a headache from these people. Next stop after that is corporate.

Read moreThe staff is amazing here but the food is definitely hit or miss. I'm trying to figure out why my review above says 2 weeks ago when I left this review more than 6 months ago!!!!!!!!!!!
And I'm on here to update my review from 4 stars to 1 star because I just received an order from GrubHub that was absolutely not edible to say the least! The chicken was not even slightly warm, 3 out of 4 of our biscuits were not fully cooked and tasted doughy in the middle. We received two things of large mashed potatoes and 1 tiny little tub of gravy. We ordered a large Pepsi and it was only 3/4 full that's including the ice and it was watered down which tells me they couldn't even take the time to ensure the Large drink we ordered was a medium drink! I asked for plates and utensils and recieved nothing! NOT EVEN A STRAW! So we are sitting here in my friend's completely packed apartment with no plates and no utensils to even eat with.
I REALLY HOPE THE GM SEES THIS BECAUSE IF THIS WERE MY RESTAURANT I WOULD BE EMBARRASSED!
I will be calling corporate because this is not what you should expect from a $32 meal!
And as I said above, it's quite fishy that a Google Review I left more than 6 months ago says I left the review 2 weeks ago! Had I not jumped on here to leave this review I wouldn't have noticed because I didn't even remember leaving the first review because it has...
