I wanted to really like this place because it's within walking distance of my place and I love the inside and the coffee is decent. Unfortunately an incredibly rude barista has ensured I won't return.
I'm hard of hearing, which I get is an invisible disability. I wear hearing buds, but they look like regular ear buds. Already when I was ordering my coffee, when I apologized and asked her to repeat herself (since I couldn't hear) she gave me attitude. The first time I went (5/12) I didn't mind the bit too loud of music. Whatever, I can deal. Today, (5/6) again it was loud and I had to call my husband because I forgot my laptop like an idiot. I checked my call logs and the two calls totaled 3 minutes. After waiting about 10 minutes, the barista finally brought me my coffee even though I was the only customer. Which, whatever, I don't actually care how long I have to wait and I thought it was cool they brought me the coffee. Until I saw what SHE WROTE ON MY CUP. "you are so loud"
Like I get it, I'm hard of hearing and sometimes I don't realize how loud I am. Especially if I'm somewhere that's noisy. I don't even mind being told I'm loud, so long as it's not as rude as this. Other than the 3 minutes out of the 20 I was there, I was quiet other than ordering and then asking a question about cream for coffee because I was overthinking. I even apologized for even asking it!
If she would have said/written it more politely, I wouldn't have been upset. I'd probably have even apologized on my way out. Because, again, I get that I can be louder than I realize.
Really disappointed because I was so excited for the place after the...

Read morePipers is hands down one of the best coffee spots I’ve ever been to. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the warm, cozy atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. The decor is charming and inviting, with just the right mix of modern and rustic touches. The coffee? Absolutely amazing. You can tell they put real care into every cup. Whether you’re a classic drip coffee fan or more into lattes and specialty drinks, Pipers nails it every time. The baristas are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. I asked for a recommendation, and they created a seasonal latte that blew me away. The pastries and snacks are just as impressive — fresh, homemade, and delicious. They also work cute little sayings on your cup. Mine said “you are so loved” Pipers is the kind of place you go once and immediately start planning your next visit. It’s perfect for catching up with friends, getting some work done, or just enjoying a quiet moment with a great cup of coffee....
