I wasn't planning on leaving a review but I think people need to be warned. First off, the service is fantastic and the atmosphere is very nice. The food is pretty mid though. I'm shocked at how high a rating this place has! You could throw a rock and hit better Mexican food in Hillsboro / Beaverton area. The chips had a weird smell. I could not place it. I got a mojito, and for some reason they don't put simple syrup in them, and the explanation for that was really random. Tasted like crap so I had them fix it by putting simple syrup in there like you're supposed to. Straight up to not taste any alcohol. The rice and beans tasted good but just something wasn't hitting as far as flavor with the tacos where are my friends torta. I did like that they had a nice spicy fried serrano served with the tacos though
Here's the real issue. I ordered a taco plate ($16.99), one of the tacos with lengua (extra $0.50), a mojito ($9), my friend ordered a torta ($15.99), and we ordered chips and salsa ($5.50). I'm not sure why I can't post a picture on this review but I did take a picture of the receipt. Apparently, they have dual pricing, which they did not say or explain or anything beforehand. So I got a bill that was supposed to be $47.98, but instead I got a bill for $50.69. All the prices of the menu items look like taxes were added but instead it was the price you pay for using a credit card. Now I own a business and I do not add on extra for my credit card fees. I eat that cost like every normal freaking place I've ever been to does, except maybe a gas station. Not only that, the math was wrong. Somehow, they snuck in an extra dollar so it was telling me the cash price was $48.98. Pretty shady practices. I don't know how they stay in business and why customers put up with their weird fuzzy math. Make sure to bring a calculator if you eat here. There are way too many delicious Mexican food establishments in the area that don't have weird...
Read moreWe stopped by Cocina México Lindo Taqueria for a late lunch while out running errands, hoping to enjoy some good food and we were not disappointed! The parking lot is a bit small, but manageable. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted with smiles and friendly hellos, which immediately set the tone for a great experience.
We were seated quickly and ordered drinks, a beer and a Michelada. While chips and salsa aren’t complimentary here, we decided to order a basket anyway and they were well worth it, fresh and flavorful. My husband ordered the mole dish, which was absolutely phenomenal. I got three different tacos, each bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection.
The service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and fast. Our server checked in just enough to make sure we had everything we needed without ever being overbearing. You can tell this is a family-owned and operated business, the warmth and care really came through, and it felt like we were being welcomed into someone’s home.
Even though it was a bit of an off-hour, the restaurant had a steady stream of customers, which speaks volumes. Everything from the food to the service was professional and high quality. We also noticed they had catering trucks parked outside, which is great to keep in mind for future events.
We just found a new favorite spot. Cocina México Lindo is a hidden...
Read moreI was craving a RED SAUCE SHREDDED BEEF ENCHILADA and saw this place was 5 stars. I repeatedly asked shredded beef and not ground beef ... I received carnitas, which would have been cool but it was not fresh. I was TOLD I was having green sauce. It was good. A little spicy but not what I really wanted.
I don't mind when a place "tells" me what to get, by suggestions, but being told they have it when I asked if they have it... Yet being told (by lack of ability to communicate or speak... This was a case of obvious lack of care for a customer) ... this is what I'm going to pay for and eat and it's not freshly cooked, and has that taste of microwaved leftovers...
Meh.
Too many places in that area to try to be disappointed.
Updated: I know what a skirt steak should taste like and this was not fresh when I went. When you ask for specifics (shredded beef) and they say "carnitas" you get that you'll have beef and it's not ground. That's fine. When you come in saying "I'd like something like a shredded beef enchilada" and you are given green sauce carnitas ... And they refuse to communicate- I understand some Spanish and grew up in Southern California - I know good food This place didn't try to make anything special about my visit. I'm glad that you guys have stayed in the community 25+ years but I...
