I rarely write reviews, but Shedevr Dessert Elegance deserves every bit of praise I can give. This little gem of a pâtisserie is more than just a dessert shop—it’s a destination, a temple of sweetness where artistry, passion, and precision meet to create confections that truly astonish.
From the moment you walk through the door, you’re greeted not just by the elegant interior but by a palpable sense of care and craftsmanship. The display case alone feels like an art exhibit—every tart, mousse, and layered cake is meticulously presented, each with its own personality and flair. But don’t be fooled by the beauty alone—these desserts have real substance, and the flavors are nothing short of transformative.
The Black Currant Cake stole my heart first. Light yet decadent, with layers that melt into each other like a symphony of tart and sweet. The balance of the fruit’s natural zing with the velvety smoothness of the cream filling was nothing less than exquisite. You can taste the skill and restraint it takes to allow the currant’s flavor to sing without overwhelming the palate.
Next came the Forest Cake, and I don’t use this word lightly—it was divine. It managed to capture the soul of a dark woodland fantasy: rich chocolate, perfectly ripened berries, a hint of liqueur or perhaps a cherry compote? It felt like a classic Black Forest cake reinvented by a master. The textures were flawless—airy sponge, smooth ganache, and the perfect crunch from delicate chocolate curls on top.
And then… the Lemon Tart. I expected good. I did not expect perfection. The curd was tangy, buttery, and vibrant, with a depth that told me it was made with the finest ingredients and the touch of someone who understands citrus like a perfumer understands scent. The crust was golden, tender, and had that satisfying snap that only comes from precision baking.
But none of this would be possible without the genius behind it all—the head baker. I had the pleasure of learning a bit about them from the friendly staff, and it became immediately clear: this is not just someone who bakes, this is someone who lives for the craft. There’s a profound passion behind every detail, from the flavor profiles to the visual presentation. You can feel the heartbeat of someone who studied technique, revered tradition, and yet isn’t afraid to innovate with bold elegance.
Shedevr Dessert Elegance is one of those rare places where dessert becomes a story, a feeling, an experience. It’s a place you want to bring friends, lovers, family—anyone with a soul for beauty and a palate for excellence. I already know I’ll be returning often and bringing everyone I know. My only regret is not discovering this place sooner.
If you haven’t been—go. And if you’ve been—you...
Read moreThis was my first time here. This dessert shop brought back memories from Europe where there are specialist dessert shops open until 21:00 even on a weekend. Me and my family were really happy to find this place, which is now on my favorites list for future reference. The range of desserts is very impressive for a small and cozy place like this. We tried a few desserts and coffee. The presentation of each dessert is special and is eye candy! (no pun intended) Please check out my videos to truly appreciate the options offered here. The peach mousse cake covered with white chocolate was amazing. You hear a pleasant crunch as your spoon travels down the center until it meets the moist peaches tightly packed and perfectly placed at the center! What a bliss! This dessert sits on top of a dark chocolate cookie as well. The cappuccino pyramid cake was equally well presented and melts in your mouth. It does not have an overpowering coffee flavor and is balanced and well rounded in flavor. I highly recommend the Cuban coffee as it is strong and complements these desserts well. The cappuccino is served with (wait for it!) small dried rose buds spread across the top. At first that seemed odd but as you take your first sip, you start to appreciate the olfactory elevation these bring to the flavor! I loved the double layer glass coffee cups in the shape of a heart. Nice touch! I also noticed the shop also sells jams but left those for my next visit. The owner of the shop also delivers a great service and is very friendly. She patiently described what was inside each dessert we asked about. You can tell this place is a labor of love and is a one of a kind place in the area. I have visited similar places serving dessert in Portland and its vicinity but this one felt more special. Prices are also very affordable and reasonable. You will find something for every budget here. If you haven't been here yet, just swing by and you will not be disappointed. There is also a takeout option 😉 I definitely...
Read moreMy daughter surprised us with a sweet treat after finishing errands today, and it was such a delightful experience for our whole family! She brought home six different desserts, each with their own distinct character and taste. The four of us eagerly sampled every one, savoring a bite of each—sharing laughter and opinions with every forkful.
What immediately stood out was the freshness of every dessert. You could tell they weren’t mass-produced or sitting on a shelf for hours—they tasted like they’d just come out of the kitchen. The flavors were vibrant and well-balanced, never overly sweet or dull. Each dessert was unique: from mousse to tart, cake to cookie, there was something for every palate. Instead of the usual repetition you might expect at a typical bakery, every offering had a distinct twist—whether it was a surprise ingredient, a gorgeous presentation, or a creative flavor combination.
Beyond just the food, what made this spot exceptional was how it brought our family together. The act of sampling, comparing, and sharing made for a memorable moment—a simple box of desserts turned into a mini adventure. If you’re looking for somewhere that doesn’t just serve good desserts, but creates an experience, Shedevr Dessert Elegance is a spot I’d...
