The Purple Penguin Yogurt and Sweet Treats — Restaurant in Bedford Township

I ordered a heart cake (first photo is what I wanted and the other 2 is what I got) for my 21st birthday and based on their past designs on cakes I was extremely confident on the fact that they’d be able to deliver without a problem. I was proven wrong when I got my cake and it didn’t look like how I wanted to at all. It honestly looks like a complete amateur made the cake. The filling was also the size of a whole layer of cake for whatever reason. The only reason I decided to not ask for some sort of refund is because the cake tasted very good. It was just disappointing that the one time I decided to go the extra mile on cake, it turns out looking really bad when I see that they could’ve done better. Makes me think they just didn’t really want to make my cake and slapped it together.

In response: I completely understood that the frosting would look different. However my complaint is based on the fact that the shape of the cake is completely off. One side is completely slanted compared to the other and the frosting in the middle is ridiculously large. I said I was fine with the cake and tipped because it was picked up on my birthday, so there was no point in trying to fix it. I also tipped because you guys provide a service and I still understand you took time to make my cake. If you did not feel comfortable with doing a cake with 2 different frosting then it should’ve been insisted on that you could not do it without there being issues. Well it was our first time in here went in to see what they had and to get there special for that day. It was myself and my kids . When we arrived there was already 4 customer's there and was still 40 min to half hour before closed. The group ahead was paying and she(the cashier/ worker) seemed very annoyed . OK our turn ... she said shortly what do u want i said I'm not sure what all u have . I said I wanted 4 of the ice cream cone specials and asked about the cookies and brownies . She stated brownies and others were wrapped up for the night night so got the cinnamon bun on counter display that was not wrapped ( it was yummy) but icecream was i believe self serve and she had the group ahead of us and us line up to get cone then said at the end of everyone have good night like get out .. one of my kids wanted a slitherin cup they were selling inside when she asked how much after getting cone cashier said idk and left it at that.......... so w that being said cinnamon roll was prretty good ice cream was good but I'm pretty sure it was self serve 🤔 and didn't really get to check out atmosphere or shop it's self bc we were rushed even telling her we were first timers. She seemed bothed by everyone so not the greatest customer service. Again food was good .. i will give one more try another time to see...

Best bubble tea in the area! My daughter loves the frozen yogurt and all the toppings to choose from. Beautiful theme cakes and treats for different events. Update if I could leave another 5 star review I would! We are a family of 7 and have ordered our last 4 birthday cakes from here and they have all been amazing! The cake decorator has came through with every design and always had availability to do our cakes even with the same week notice! We are going out of town for one of our kids birthdays and contacted 2 bakeries so far in the area we are traveling to and have had no luck getting a cake made. One bakery never contacted me back and the other had me give my whole cake order just to tell me they were booked on a Wednesday and couldn't do it. I even said I could pick it up the day before and guess they were also booked on a Tuesday. I know Purple Penguin would have no trouble coming through with a great tasting, beautifully decorated and fairly priced cake! Never knew how challenging it could be to find a talented cake artist who can make the cake you want and now that I do it makes me appreciate our local bakeries here in Toledo even more with Purple Penguin being our top favorite! We just ordered a marble cake with chocolate mousse and it was the best marble cakes we ever had....
