Food is great; service is lousy.
Drinks were incorrect; straws were wet with DrPepper; when I asked for napkins to clean up the sticky DrPepper, I was handed a wet towel, which was fine............the remark was uncalled for as the sticky came from the wet straws I received from the Hostess. She said "y'all just can't take her anywhere"
Asked for hot syrup with pancakes and were told they didn't have pecan syrup; just maple............my sister said she didn't want pecan syrup, just wanted the maple syrup heated. Had to ask for the syrup as it never arrived.........when it did, it was not heated................didn't say anything, was just glad to have syrup, at this point.
Had to ask for coffee refill. Waitress brought a pot of coffee and set it on waitress table warmer and walked back up front. Finally got a refill when we ordered dessert. We also asked for two more cups of coffee as we had 4 people and the other two wanted coffee with their dessert.........never got those. Asked for to-go boxes and one came with a melted hole in it and the closure tab broken. When the waitress came back to put dishes in bust tub, we asked her for a replacement because it was broke...........she said "are you breaking things?" We replied, "no, it came this way"...........never got that or any coffee refills. We finally just decided to leave and got another waitress to get us a box on the way out. I did report my frustration to Hostess as I was paying out. Bill was $56 and I gave her $60 and told her to give the $4 to the waitress. I told her I tip on the service I receive and didn't feel like leaving that much and informed I usually tip 15 to 20% on good service and more if I receive excellent service.
I don't normally do this, but I took this very personally. I will think long before going back, even if I do...
Read more3 of us ate there today for lunch. The waitress/hostess/cashier took us to our table, returned tossed the menus on the table with silverware didn't say a word and walked off. She returned a few minutes later to get our order. Then a different waitress brought our food within around 5 minutes. Fastest cooks in the South I guess. One guy got a coke and he said there was zero carbonation. We shook it, banged it and no bubbles ever came up, and for $3.45 for a flat coke, pretty sad. I got the S.O.S with gravy and sausage and hash browns I asked for a side of Cholula or hot sauce. I didn't get my hot sauce or Cholula, so I asked again. The biscuits were room temp, gravy was mildly warm at best, hash browns were cold and seemed like they were cooked that morning and left close to the gridle for some warmth. Again we got our food within about 5 minutes of ordering it so no way was this cooked for us, just slightly heated up. After waiting a few minutes for them to bring the hot sauce, I then got up and asked the waitress again for hot sauce and she finally brought it after the 3rd time of asking. They charge you a fee for not paying in cash, but no where is this said until you get your receipt. I didn't finish my food, the guy who got the Coke said the same as me, we would never be back. The 3rd guy liked his, but said it was over priced for what he got.
We went here because of the high ratings, so not sure if we just got it on an off day or not, but not going back...
Read moreTerrible service. Hubby and I had never been there before, so we thought we'd check it out. We were seated right away and drink order was taken. We got our tea and coffee and looked over the menu. No one came back to take our order. An older couple came in about 20 minutes after we did. 10 minutes after they sat, the server for our area called another server over to help the older customers who had been waiting "30 minutes". They received their drink order and gave their food order before the server came over and got our food order. Hubby expressed his displeasure at our waiting and her saying the other customers had been there for so long and we had not been acknowledged before that. She took our order and never came back to our table. We were there 50 minutes before getting our order. Mostly, it was okay. The pancakes, though, were a joke! Very thin. After we ate, hubby paid. We always pay before complimenting or complaining about service because we don't want anyone thinking we are just after a free meal. He often talks to managers because so often they only hear the bad stuff. We like to tell them when we have good service as well, which is most often the case when we go out. So he asked to speak with the manager - she happened to be the one checking him out. She was also one of the three people who served our table after we never saw our server again. She came up with many excuses for the poor service. Hubby felt like she kept turning it back on him. We will...
