Over the past couple of years I've been going to Bennie's because my daughter has dance class nearby every Wednesday. So I've spent $100s at this place. I can honestly say that I will never go back after an experience my wife and I had there last week. If I could, I would give zero stars. We sat at the bar and ordered a beer and a glass of wine. We then ordered 1 slice of pizza and a salad that I "built" myself. We were in no hurry as we didn't need to leave until about 90 minutes after we arrived. After about 45 minutes we asked the Bartender if she could check on the food. Again, one slice of pizza and a salad. She said she would check on it but mentioned that they had a fundraiser that night so food orders were taking a while. She didn't mention this up until that point. The place maybe had 20 people there in total. So we were cool with it and repeated this process thirty minutes later. Once again the one slice of pizza and salad were nowhere to be found. So we asked the bartender if we could just take it to go once ready. Another 10 minutes went by and clearly no food was on the way. I had already asked for the bill because we needed to go to pick up my child. And then this happened.....The bartender went into the cash drawer and flopped down cash in front of me. I said "what is this?" and she said "well you were complaining about the food taking too long so here is your money." I had been nothing but nice to this lady the whole time and she did this in front of other patrons. Some folks may have been happy to receive a couple of free drinks but I felt completely disrespected. I can't even explain the rudeness that this women displayed to me and my wife. We just wanted to eat dinner. At a restaurant. Not too much to ask...
To the owner - This is my first google review I've ever written for a restaurant. We are very understanding of situations where food is taking a while. My wife used to work in the industry. We are very respectful people and would never be overtly rude to staff members. For the record, there is another gentlemen bartender who we've had several times that has always been kind and efficient (reddish brown hair). We also really like your food. But this experience was just appalling and we will never be back. For reference we were there on 12/7 at 5:15 pm. Needed our food by 6:45 to...
Read moreBennieâs Pizza Pub in Belleville is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, youâre welcomed by a laid-back, friendly atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Whether you're here for a casual night out or grabbing a quick slice, this place delivers in every way.
Letâs talk about the pizzaâphenomenal! The crust has the perfect balance of crispy and chewy, with just the right amount of char from the wood-fired oven. The toppings are fresh and generously portioned, and the cheese has that perfect melt and stretch. We tried a few different options, but the standout was their signature Bennieâs Specialâevery bite was loaded with flavor. If you love a little heat, their spicy options wonât disappoint either.
Beyond the pizza, the beer selection is fantastic. I did not try any of them, but they had a good choice. They offer a great mix of local and craft beers that pair perfectly with their menu. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and service was quick even when the place was busy.
Bennieâs strikes that perfect balance between a casual, fun vibe and seriously good food. Itâs easy to see why locals love it. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, you wonât be disappointed. This place is a...
Read moređ If youâre anywhere near Belleville, Bennieâs Pizza Pub needs to be on your radar. Their slice is basically a quarter of a pizzaâfor $8âand itâs the kind of generous portion I fully support.
I ordered the pickle pizza (yes, PICKLE), and it was tangy, cheesy, and way better than it had any right to be. But the standout was the supremeâloaded, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Pro tip: it smelled so good I forgot to take a photo until Iâd already eaten half. No regrets.
The atmosphere is fun and casualâneon lights, a stage for live music, a full bar, and a wall of merch if youâre feeling like repping your pizza loyalty. It feels like a neighborhood spot where you could post up with friends or catch a show and a drink.
â Huge slices â Great vibe â Live music â Solid bar â Ridiculously good pizza
