We just moved to the area and we're told that Johnny's on the lake was excellent Belleville food and fun. The fact that so many people told me this restaurant was good makes me question everyone's taste. The food was gross to be honest, my husband got the fajitas And I don't think they've even put salt or pepper on the steak it was that bland the beans I'm pretty sure we pinto smashed (ew) and the rice would've been better if they would've just used box rice onto the fish and chips they were all right nothing to write home about but be aware that although they have a full service bar they don't have lemons at all in the restaurant I'll let you think about that one… two JD's burger, the patty was a frozen patty and it was so blatantly a frozen patty that it even had the aeration holes in the top and the patty was in the form of an octagon now for $21 meal I would expect that a restaurant like this would at least form their own hamburger patties. That addresses the food, now let's start on the service… If that's what you can call it. The waitress did not say hello nothing she threw the menus down took our order walked away brought me a salad and no silverware and told me "ugh I'll be back" and in fact did not come back at all until she brought us our meals so I got to just stare at my salad, she brings us the food asks us if we need anything else we let her know we needed refills for everyone because we haven't seen her and the ranches that the kids ordered with their meals, I'm not kidding you when I tell you we did not see this woman until everyone had their napkins on their plates because they were done eating and then she comes over and says how's everything going can I get you anything. When you enter the restaurant the hoses will ask if you would like to eat indoors or outdoors, having outdoor seating and asking people if they would be interested in eating outdoors weed customers to believe that you are managing the outdoors as a seated eating area, that is not where we sat… We sat outdoors being attacked by bees and flies because the legs of the tables were coded and covered in sticky crap And the bees and the flies would not stop, but again our waitress would not know that we were having any of these issues because she never came back🤷🏼♀️ Now if this sounds like a restaurant that you want to take your family out to and spend over $100 to have food at by all means go for it but I know for me and mine and anyone else who suggest this restaurant in my presence it will be an absolute hard no! I don't give people my money for free and that's what it felt like last night. Congratulations Johnny is on the Water, you are officially the first restaurant since we moved to Michigan that we have sworn off unanimously...
Read moreVisiting from San Diego, my friend who lives in the area and I were looking for a cute place to eat with our kids.
Seemed like a nice spot initially. We were seated in about 15 minutes because they were a little busy, but it went all down hill from there.
A waiter brought water out to us and said he would be back. He never came back. I had to wave him down to ask if he would be coming to take our order soon. He said no, he was not our waiter. I explained that we had been sitting for 20 minutes and no one came to take our orders. We had the kids with us, so just leaving and going somewhere else wasn't really an option. He then said someone would be with us right away.
After watching him and another waiter in the back going back and forth, I'm assuming about who was going to take our table, we still had no waiter.
The waiter we finally got, Bruno, apparently had to have a conversation with the manager before coming to take our order because after the conversation with the other waiter I watched him walk straight to the manager before he finally came to our table. He makes up some excuse about them being busy and apologizes for the wait BUT I had just watched a family come in after us, be seated, and the same waiter bring them drinks.
We FINALLY order our food and my drink. And again, another long wait. I had to flag Bruno down to ask about my drink, and when it got to the table, it was not good.
Got an appetizer and that came out pretty quickly but we didn't have silverware. When I asked Bruno for silverware he brought TWO sets. There were two adults and three kids at the table. We asked for more and he gave us one more set and some "extra napkins".
When the food finally came out, it was either wrong or he forgot it. My friend's daughter ordered a salad with a side of fries, he brought her a salad with rice. After he sat three of the meals down, he asked if we needed anything else. YES!!! The rest of our food, says what did you order again?
By this point I'm completely over it. My kids ate, we got to go boxes and we left after speaking to the manager.
It was an absolutely terrible experience. Thank God I don't live here so I'll never even have to think about going...
Read moreWe've been living in the Belleville area for 20 years and we haven't been in this restaurant until tonight. The table that the receptionist gave us was against the glass window overlooking the Belleville lake. It was sunset, around 7:15pm, when we came in and the view...spectacular! The waitress didn't come to our table until after 10 minutes when we sat down to take our drink orders. She took our orders and at the same time my wife ordered the nachos. (I'll explain the significance of the nachos later.) After about 30 mins in the restaurant marveling at the view of Belleville lake, the family (with small kids) next to us got up and demanded their check. I over heard that they are leaving because they haven't gotten their entrée order yet and needed to leave. The manager stepped in and took care of the bill and didn't let the family pay. He was very apologetic when they were leaving. After this incident we got our nacho order. If not for the nacho I think we might have done the same thing as the family next to us who left. After about 45 mins of waiting, my fish tacos and my son's burger came in. But my wife and daughter's pizza order didn't come in yet. The waitress said that it's still in the oven and should be ready in 3 to 5 mins. After 10 minutes the manager came in and told us that the pizza was burnt and needed about 10 mins to cook a new one. He also told us that he will cover our drinks. So I ordered another glass of red wine. After 15 mins, we got the pizza and according to my wife and daughter it was very good. My fish taco was ok and so was my son's burger, according to him. I could have given this establishment 2 stars but the manager saved our situation a little bit so I gave them 3 stars. It took us about an hour and 45 mins to be out of the restaurant. Good thing we are just spending a lazy Saturday evening. Bottomline, if you're in a hurry this is not the place to go. But if you just want to hang out at the bar, have a nice drink and enjoy the view of Belleville lake, you will have...
