Very unforgettable experience. Customer service was horrible the front host n this knowledge ever smiled and it felt I welcomed from the door. He sat us down forgot a couple menus in witch I took it upon myself to get up and ask for them because I was hungry and he took a while to come back. I was ignored and stood there for awhile before I asked because two workers ignored me. Was brought silver ware and napkins with crumbs multi color crumbs on them to a point I almost left. I asked for plastic silverware was brought more silver ware with crumbs as well. Never received a booster seat for my child that I had requested for twice. The waiter kept coming back to ask for clarification on order to then bring all adult plates before the kid she lol so hungry and requested the place I felt so bad witch made me not even eat till hers came. The other two orders where missing every specialized item we requested to pay extra for. When brought it up to him another lady observed in silence while he told me no about everything I mentioned lol and I got frustrated and just said nothing else everyone tried to walk away when I noticed a women who look like she had comprehension skills and had previously starred quietly she explained he was a busser not waiter who spoke limited English and she is sorry and will fix it my thing is why did she not intervene if she had this knowledge? Why would she try to walk away seeing how unhappy the service was. Mind u while where eating the “busser waiter” “who speaks limited English” came back to our table asked us hey is everything alright with your food and no longer had a accent he pronounced everything so fluently my Mexican friend was like woooow he sounds like he knows great English she literally just said anything and I feel the same way Also my daughter for came and was missing her eggs and her pancakes looked weird and did not taste good she did not even eat but her egg and some bacon. It was crazy because the dude tried to go back with me that her lilpancske meal that I ordered came with no pancakes…. The lady fixed a couple items but we didn’t even want our food taken back to be replaced because of the energy they gave off. There was fly’s and moths on the wall my friend made a joke the crumbs on the napkin came from the ceiling and we looked up and it may have been accurate I’ll never eat there again waste of money for us. And yes we did eat it because we payed for it and I didn’t want to be rude and walk out after we received it but should have because I felt really sick afterwards and was stuck on the toilet and light headed after eating here a lot more happened I’m just tired of writing this and am already descriptive of my issue and my stomachs still hurts. I’ve beat for 3 years and noticed this place and almost ate there many times but my intuition kept me away I wish I had listened. I don’t feel like they are used to or comfortable with people of color and that is so ok but not on the job very distasteful ohhh yeah this part is the craziest he argued me down about plastic forks he told me they don’t have them I said so when u have to go orders u don’t give plastic forks he said no we don’t…….. he lied because the lady...
Read moreLocated in a non-descript plaza in Eastgate, tucked between the Volkswagon and Toyota dealerships, lies one of the breakfast wonders of the world. Lil’ Jon’s Restaurant is a favorite of locals. Its greasy spoon diner façade belies the richness of the true American breakfast experience which lies within: great food, generous portions, served fast and hot, at the best price in all of Seattle-Bellevue.
If you want the full experience, it’s best to sit at the counter, especially during peak serving hours, 9 am – 11 am. Don’t be intimidated by the line out the door as you approach. Nudge your way through it and head to the counter, there is usually an open stool and it’s first-come-first served.
If you are with a group, put your name in. As busy as the place gets, you will be amazed how fast you will be seated. The booths and tables turn over quicker than the time it takes you to eat your meal. In fact, one of the wonders of dining at Lil Jon’s is watching the shear number of people coming and going in such a short span of time. The place is a model of efficiency.
Up at the counter, take in the ballet of line cooks, wait staff and dishwashers. There are dozens of them all operating in a long space only 3 feet wide. You swear there will be a massive collision at any moment, but like busy bees, it never happens. They energetically glide by one another at breakneck speed juggling coffee, juice, water and full plates of food. This ain’t Mel’s Diner – no time for idle chit chat with the cooks or wait staff.
Sitting at the counter, watch the spindle of tickets rotating like a carousel that never stops. As fast as tickets are pulled by the line cooks, another one is clicked on by the wait staff. Four line cooks are masters of their domain behind the serving window, flanked by three large and sizzling griddles. The cooks are in constant motion, literally jumping between the griddles, twisting and turning to snag lard from this direction, pre-prepped food from that direction, and jumping 180 degrees to sling piping hot plates up on the staging counter. The wait staff can barely keep up and the cooks are tempted to start stacking the plates full of food on top of one another as they continue to pull tickets, the head cook barking out the next order to his com-padres.
If there is something called breakfast poetry in motion, it is performed to perfection at Lil Jon’s. It’s not just food, it’s morning entertainment. You think to yourself, if only every business worked this well, especially our health care system. Not possible…have some more bacon,...
Read moreI ordered a taco omelette with hash browns and toast. The omelette was ok, but it had no cheese (or an extremely small amount that I couldn't see or taste). Also, I wasnt a huge fan of the taco meat. It kind of reminded me of fast food quality ground beef you would get from Taco Bell or Taco Time, but this was slightly better.... only slightly. I could have gotten food of the same quality and price at Denny's... 😟
My biggest issue was the host staff, or lack thereof. I stood in line to be seated and waited there for almost 10 minutes without being greeted or acknowledged by any of the staff. While I was waiting, two parties came in line and waited behind me. The staff greeted both of those parties waiting behind me, even though they were larger parties and they had just walked in. But they completely ignored me and did not greet me. When the second party waiting behind me was about to be seated, they actually had to stop the host and let them know that I was in line first, and should be seated first. This whole time I'm literally at the register in the front of the line and standing in front of everyone, so they couldn't have missed me. At this point the staff realized that I existed and I wasn't a ghost, and they seated me in the corner right by the kitchen door. The table was was about half the length of the booth so it looked very tacky. Also, the table was so close to the kitchen door that the staff would possibly trip over my feet or bump my table. They shouldn't seat people there, its unsafe and embarrassing to sit there. I almost took a picture of it but decided not to because I didnt want to make a scene or make the host feel uncomfortable. Between them ignoring me and then trying to give me a bad seat, I felt a little embarrassed and insulted. I refused that table and just sat at the bar counter. Out of all the times I've ever eaten out, that was the worst experience I've had with any host staff greeting and seating me. When people dine at your restaurant and support your business, you should treat them with better service and hospitality. The hosts definitely dropped the ball on this one.
The only highlight was the speed of the food and service after I sat down. I heard they have good cinnamon rolls so I might come back for that. But besides that, I have no desire to return here and I can't give their food or service a good recommendation. They need to improve the quality of their food and have properly...
