As a loyal customer who places an order at your Bellevue location on a weekly basis, I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frankly, outrage, at the utterly unacceptable treatment I received during my recent visit. The interaction with your staff was so appalling that I felt compelled to share this experience, which I assure you, will be permanently etched in my memory.
During my drive-thru order, I attempted to provide my reward code number, as I consistently do with every visit. However, the employee taking my order seemed completely uninterested and continued to speak over me, proceeding with what I assume was the order entry without even acknowledging my attempts to provide the code. Despite my repeated attempts to ensure the reward was applied, the employee persisted in their own dialogue, seemingly oblivious to my communication.
On my third attempt to provide the reward code, realizing the employee had likely not heard me, I raised my voice slightly to ensure clarity. It was at this point that another individual, whom I can only assume was a manager or whoever, interjected with an incredibly rude and accusatory statement, telling me not to "scream."
Let me be unequivocally clear: I was not screaming. Raising my voice to ensure I was heard due to the employee's inattentiveness is a far cry from screaming. To be so falsely accused and addressed in such a disrespectful manner was shocking and deeply offensive.
When I attempted to explain the situation – that I was simply trying to provide my reward code because the initial employee was not listening – the manager or whoeveer continued to repeat the same dismissive phrase: "Don't scream." This individual demonstrated a complete lack of understanding of the situation, an inability to engage in polite discourse, and a shocking deficiency in basic customer service skills. Their insistence on this false accusation, coupled with their refusal to listen to my explanation, was not only insulting but also indicative of a severe lack of training and professionalism.
It is your staff who displayed a complete lack of politeness and respect towards a paying customer. Their inability to comprehend the difference between raising one's voice to be heard and engaging in aggressive yelling is deeply concerning.
This encounter left me feeling not only disrespected and unheard but also genuinely bewildered by the sheer incompetence and rudeness of your staff. To witness such a profound lack of customer service etiquette and the inability of your team to engage in a rational and respectful conversation is truly disheartening.
It is disheartening to have such a negative experience at a place I frequented regularly. The lack of remorse, understanding, or even the basic ability to engage in polite conversation displayed by your staff is appalling. This incident reflects poorly on your entire establishment and leaves me with a profound sense of disappointment and a feeling of being utterly undervalued as a customer.
I sincerely hope that you will take this feedback seriously and address the severe deficiencies in your staff's training and customer service skills to prevent other loyal customers from experiencing similar...
Read moreVisited the drive through at this location at around 6:50pm on Friday September 13th. My wife began to order our food in this manner, 2-10 piece nuggets, with sweet and sour and honey mustard, 1 happy meal, with cheeseburger, fries, go-gurt, and chocolate milk to drink, 2- mcdoubles, 1 large Sprite, (2appeared on order screen, I was ok with it) and a large fry after repeating it multiple times. Total $21.97...good deal. Pulled forward. My wife was curious as to the ethnicity of the order takers accent, in which she replied persian. I paid with 2-$20 bills, received proper change, no receipt. Pulled forward to receive our food. Promptly was given a bag, followed by the happy meal and both sprites. The young girl at the window said sorry about the wait. Though we did not wait at all. My wife pulled out. I opened the bag after pulling out onto the road and discovered there was no large fries. I told my wife to go back. She turned around and we were back within a couple minutes. I gave my son his happy meal, in which his happy meal to eat as I brought the bag in to the store. I got the young girls attention who was working the window and told her we did not get our fries..she apologized and turned to tell her manager who then said to get the fries. I thanked her and turned to leave but was greeted to my wife who informed me my son didn't have his chocolate milk in his happy meal . So I went back and told them they also forgot the milk. The managers attitude turned from helpful to annoyed. She asked to see my receipt ,in which I explained we did not receive one. She walked back to the order takers, who came forward and said yes she remembered our order and apologized for not giving us a receipt and the manager told her to always give a receipt. Then the young girl working the 2nd window walks up and told me that she thinks the fries were there the first time. I told her no, why would I waste my time coming back. Rudely the manager handed me the chocolate milk and then asked to see my receipt again and I told her I couldn't give her a receipt I never received. I asked for her name in which she said "I don't have to give my name out to anyone, you need to leave." At this point I was flustered, I again asked her name. She began yelling that I need to leave. I called a few choice words and told her she was a fool for arguing with a customer. I will never return to this location as this is not a surprise, although to this extent is alarming. The actions of the manager, who was also working in street clothes, with no name tag, and the young girl working the window were mind blowingly rude and...
Read moreAh, McDonald’s. This a great place to grab a quick cup of coffee before heading next door to Starbucks and waiting in line for coffee you actually wanted. It’s like a caffeine pregame. You walk in with McDonald’s coffee and the Starbucks barista looks at you like you brought a sandwich to a steakhouse. But everyone in line looks at you with a look on their face like, “I should’ve thought of that.”
Four stars for McDonald’s. Not five—because I have a gluten allergy and apparently that’s still considered a personality flaw in the McDonald’s universe. I walked in and asked if they had anything gluten-free and the cashier looked at me like I’d asked if Ronald McDonald could officiate a wedding. She said, “We have a peach mango smoothie.” I said, “Is that it?” She said, “It’s really good.” So now I’m just sitting there with a smoothie, watching my family eat fries like royalty while I sip my tropical sadness.
But let’s be honest—McDonald’s is still amazing. It’s the only place where you can order a full meal in under 30 seconds and somehow still feel like you’ve made a life decision. Before I knew gluten allergy I once ordered a McDouble, a McChicken, and fries, and the guy behind the counter said, “You want a tray?” I said, “No, I want to eat this in my car like a raccoon.”
The drive-thru is a spiritual experience. You pull up, they say “Welcome to McDonald’s,” and you immediately forget everything you’ve ever wanted. I once panicked and ordered a Filet-O-Fish. I don’t even like fish. I just said it because it sounded like a dare. Then I ate it and thought, “This is what regret tastes like.”
The peach mango smoothie though? That thing slaps. Especially in the summer. It’s like McDonald’s said, “We can’t help you with gluten, but here’s a fruit tornado in a cup.” I’ve had three in one day. I don’t know if that’s healthy, but I do know it’s cheaper than therapy.
I once asked a food inspector what he thought of the place and he said:
“It’s clean, fast, and 80% of the menu is edible. That’s a win in my book.”
So yeah, four stars. Great food, great speed, questionable decisions. If you’re gluten-free, bring a snack. If you’re not, bring stretchy pants. And if you hear someone whispering “extra sauce…” from the bathroom, don’t worry—it’s probably just the Phantom from Phantom Lake moonlighting...
