i can only speak on the coffee, but the organic factor is overblown — if it’s specialty coffee, that should be a given, it just feels like a hollow selling point that’s compensating for something. plus, when i last checked, the bags of coffee don’t list a roast date or farm/estate. if the organic factor is so important to the owner, and it is all as high quality and as ethical as they say it is, shouldn’t that be just as important and easy to say as well? also, $7 for a double shot espresso, when you could get a double espresso from any of the other third wave cafes in Pittsburgh (La Prima, De Fer, Klvn) for less is ridiculous — especially when considering the the fact that it was served in a disposable cup, however that does make sense considering that they had zero seating at the time (whether or not they have seating now, i’m unsure of) — regardless, still ridiculous for $7 espresso
my two cents on the espresso itself though: very low body and very bright. probably a decent spot for lovers of very juicy...
Read moreI purchased two cupcakes and a chai tea. Admittedly, I initially thought the prices were a bit high…then, I tasted it. The chai tea fed my soul! It was perfect, not too strong, not too weak. The cupcakes were organic, vegan, and gluten free. As someone who suffers from egg and gluten allergies a baked good is hard to come by. This cupcake was THE BEST cupcake I have had in my life, even comparing to those from before my allergies. It was a blackberry lime cupcake. Confession, I don’t like blackberry or lime but like I said, gf vegan cupcakes aren’t found everywhere. This blackberry lime cupcake could not have been better. Each component of the flavor was spot on and not overpowering. It was as beautifully made as it tasted. The staff were welcoming, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I am looking forward to returning to try more...
Read moreThis is a cute 'newer' spot in Bellevue. The service was great and the atmosphere is calm, clean, and bright. Unfortunately, there is no where to sit (no tables or chairs inside or outside). Also, I LOVE how the Cafe items are vegan but the selection listed was not what was in the case (there wasn't much there: 1 more scone, 4 cookies, and 4 pieces of banana bread). I wanted to try a blueberry scone, but they were not available. Also, the organic coffee was good, but not great (I got a got an iced latte with oatmilk and pistachio syrup). For a 12 oz latte, my bill was almost 9 dollars. A little pricey considering this location and no seating. Probably will not be...
