We were extremely excited about coming here for brunch and wanted to know what all the hoop-la was about. Well we were all very disappointed with our brunch dinning experience.
We arrived and were lucky enough to find parking in their limited space parking lot. Be prepared to park far away and on the street somewhere.
We checked in with the host and we're told our wait would be 45 mins to 1 hour, which was fine at the time! Well 1 hour passed and I checked in with the host. She explained that we had 7 parties in front of us but that people were leaving and we should be seated in 30 minutes. Well 30 minutes passed and so now our wait time has been 1 hour and 1/2 and we still haven't been called so I again checked in with the host. I then get some story that the owner had personal friends, which were a party of 25 that needed to be seated ahead of us. By this time, not only am I infuriated but so are other guests. It is now a 2 hour wait and now my wife gets up because she notices that a party that checked in after us is being seated. The host notices her mistake but does nothing to fix the problem and very rudely informs my wife that a table is being prepared for us inside the restaurant in the back next to the restrooms. So we get seated in the WORST table in the restaurant after waiting 2 hours, great customer service! NOT! Plus there are flies everywhere and now I'm grossed out and ready to just leave but decided to stay and try the food, another bad mistake!!
Our lead waiter was great by the way, he took our orders and was very attentive, he was the only positive part of the entire dinning experience.
So now comes the food, which was why we were there! I ordered the Ensenada omelette, it was horrible. It came with crab, shrimp, salmon, and octopus but the rich white sauce was rancid. I took one bite and spit it out!! My dish came with a salad that had no dressing and a baked potato that was under cooked. My wife had the Huevos Rancheros, she said they were just ok! Our friend ordered the Madre Chilaquiles, she said the sauce had a bad taste and flavor and barely touched them. We also ordered the infamous Journey pancakes to share. By the time the waitress did the ridiculous fill the tin can trick with the condensed milk that spill onto the pancakes, they were so soggy and ruined the texture.
This is the WORST dinning experience we've ever had. A long wait for bad food was not on today's agenda but that's what this place serves. The cooks have no regard for their trade and are just serving tasteless and flavorless sloop! While the owner gives personal friends VIP privileges while paying clients bake in the sun waiting hours to be seated. I have already warned all my friends and family to stay away from this place and go somewhere else! There are tons of great breakfast spots in the...
Read moreWe recently visited Madres Brunch in Bellflower, we joined the waitlist at 11:30 am arrived and checked in at 12:30pm, but unfortunately, we didn't get seated until 1:30 pm. This long wait was quite frustrating, especially since there wasn't enough covered seating in the waiting area, making it uncomfortable on a hot day.
Despite the delayed seating, the staff at Madres Brunch were friendly and accommodating once seated. They made an effort to ensure we were comfortable and attended to our needs throughout our visit.
Unfortunately, the food at Madres Brunch fell short of expectations. While the portions were generous and filling, the taste and quality were subpar. The Madres Chilaquiles, which we ordered to share, lacked the desired flavors and could have been much better. The On Fire waffles, though visually appealing upon arrival, were disappointingly dry even with the small scoop of ice cream. The overall dining experience left much to be desired, particularly when compared to other establishments offering similar prices and options.
One highlight of the meal was the flight of mimosas, which was enjoyable for sharing with the table. However, it's worth noting that the flight only included three mimosas, which may be insufficient for larger groups or those looking to sample a wider variety.
If there's one positive aspect to highlight, it would be the vibes and atmosphere of Madres Brunch. The restaurant exudes a trendy ambiance that adds to the overall experience. However, I would caution potential visitors to manage their expectations primarily when it comes to the food.
Taking everything into account, I can only give Madres Brunch a 2 out of 5 star rating. While the friendly staff and decent mimosa flight contribute to a somewhat enjoyable experience, the subpar food and extensive wait times outweigh these positives. Considering the variety of dining options available, I don't foresee myself returning to Madres Brunch...
Read moreFirst time here, it’s popular and packed. So parking might be a challenge, the parking lot on sight is a bit condensed, we lucked out getting a parking space, but had to back in to the parking spot due to limited space. It seems, if you have a larger party, it may be a wait to be seated. Since there was only two of us, we were seated right away. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Seating area was a little tight, but they have fans circulating the air, so it made it tolerable. High energy music playing, but not overwhelming, nice background music- From observation, presentation of the plates and showmanship was top notch. Portions of food were adequate. And quality of food was above average . There were flights of coffee and margaritas from what I observed. French toast and pancakes looked very appetizing and festive ( I’ll be trying them on a future visit). Overall a good experience and I have plans on returning to try other dishes. For this visit, we had the chilaquiles and the eggs divorciados. The chilaquiles were flavorful and filling, with plenty on the plate. The divorciados ,served with half a baked (menu stated baked potato but didn’t specify whole or half),had a great presentation and were good and flavorful- however being that I have a larger appetite than most, I could have used a little more on my plate. But overall a good experience and, I’m planning on...
