Nestled in the heart of Fairhaven, Avenue Bread is a true gem for early risers and food enthusiasts alike. My first visit to this delightful eatery left an indelible impression, earning it a well-deserved five stars.
The moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming staff, who set the tone for a fantastic early morning experience. The interior, both clean and inviting, offers ample seating options inside and out, perfect for any kind of weather.
The menu is a treasure trove of delectable choices, but two standout items made my visit unforgettable. The "Gourmet" sandwich, served on a perfectly flaky croissant, was a symphony of flavors, especially with the added hash brown that brought a delightful crunch. Equally impressive was the "Beast" sandwich, also on a buttery croissant, which lived up to its name with hearty, satisfying ingredients.
To compliment these culinary delights, we indulged in an oatmilk latte and a regular latte with a single pump of coconut. Both were expertly crafted, with the oatmilk latte offering a creamy, slightly nutty flavor, while the hint of coconut in the regular latte added a refreshing twist.
What sets Avenue Bread apart is not only the quality of the food and beverages but also its convenience. It's one of the few places in town that opens at 7:30 am, catering to early birds like myself who crave a delicious start to the day.
In summary, Avenue Bread in Fairhaven is a must-visit. With outstanding food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s no wonder this place has quickly become a favorite of mine. *Perk - a mama deer and her two babies walked just outside of the restaurant as we ate. So cute!!
See you again soon,...
Read moreMy wife and I were excited to try this location as it seemed cleaner and more inviting than down town or James St. With no customers other than us, I approached the counter and said to the young girl “hi, how are you?” Her friend /co worker walked by and started talking to her and she choose to chat with her instead of acknowledging my wife and I while standing right in front of her. After finishing her giggle session with two other co workers she finally said “how can I help you” I asked if she was busy, referring to the clear inconvenience I was causing her by attempting to order. She caught my sarcasm and with an abundance of sass said “everything we have is on the board”.
We walked out immediately. I will NOT give my money to an establishment that allows their child like employees to treat customers this way.
I don’t care how short your bangs are or how woke your college has programmed you to be. Businesses that don’t train their employees to be welcoming, and at least fake...
Read moreHad a rather disconcerting experience today while getting lunch with my two female friends. The manager (or what seemed to be the manager, as she was curtly ordering the rest of the staff around) was working the register and seemed rather annoyed to have to help us.
She notified us as we approached the counter that any sandwich order would take 20 minutes (it took about 3 1/2) and when my friends asked for a to-go container, she refused to even give them a paper bag, forcing my friends you wrap their remaining food in the trey wrappers.
Overall it felt like we were being actively dissuaded from eating there, which we likely will if we have to deal with such poor customer service. I'm happy to say the food was still amazing, so I'll give the place two stars. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt in that everyone has bad days, but professionalism means not allowing personal issues from interfering with good...
