Marine Park is a great place to bring your lunch and sit next to the water (Bellingham Bay) while eating. There are a few picnic tables and a covered pavilion for rainy days. (There are well-maintained women's and men's restrooms in the pavilion.) Popular area for dog walkers -- and walkers without dogs. Lots of families with kids as well, especially in the summer. I'm not a kayaker, but I frequently see them launching into the bay from here because they can park so close and the slope down to the water is very gentle.

MP is a small park, so if your plans include activities that require a large area, it isn't the best place to go.

Only drawback -- for those seeking a quiet place -- is that the railroad runs right along the Park's edge. The trains don't run too often though, so it's generally peaceful.

You can park your car there or walk down to MP from the main part of Fairhaven in just a...

Marine Park in Fairhaven, WA, is the kind of place that doesn’t try to impress you—but somehow, it does. It’s the perfect spot to sit, let your mind wander, and consider how strange life can be. After a long day filled with noise and nonsense, this is where you come to catch your breath.

There are some places where nature just exists. Here, the quiet beauty of the water and sky doesn’t beg for admiration; it simply is. And if you stop for a moment, watch the light fade, and let yourself feel it, you might just sense something deeper—something that reminds you why these simple...

I like Marine Park. It can be very busy at times, after all it is a public park. This is a great place to lay on the grass, skip rocks, or sit in the sand. There is a covered gazebo with picnic tables and public bathrooms. It is a classic place to take prom pictures, photos of the islands and sunset in Bellingham bay. The septic treatment plant is right next door, and sometimes if the wind hits just right it can be pretty smelly, but there is a nice big dog off leash area if you follow the trails around behind the treatment plant. I would...

A favorite place to look over Bellingham Bay from a vantage point high above the tide flats. Usually opportunities to see Bald Eagles, hawks and summer time visiting Turkey Vultures riding the wind currents especially when the South wind is blowing. Kite surfers use the wind and breaking waves to put on a show. The location at the end of the Bellingham airport can provide a mini airshow with small private planes to large commercial aircraft flying in and out close overhead with an occasional treat of military jets and other interesting planes.

This park is beloved by everyone here. Which is probably why the city cares so much about those who visit. I'm being sarcastic. It closes at 7:00 p.m.. they have Gates so you can't go in after hours. And when the gates are open during summer months they have police patrol at frequently. For those who do not obey the rules. They don't do this for any other Park. 7:00 p.m. closing is lifted during the summertime hours obviously. I posted a couple of pictures it's not really of the park but the view
