El Agave — Restaurant in Bellingham

My order was togo (eaten while sitting on the bench right outside because I rode my bike there), and I try to be less picky in that situation because I don't think foods taste their best when not eaten hot, but I'll still note a few observations here for now. The chips seem to be home made but weren't warm. The guacamole had good flavor but it contained tomatoes, which wouldn't be in a classic guacamole. The salsa was very good. I had the two (cheese) enchilada lunch special and the serving size was generous. I'm vegetarian and got the black beans. The refried beans have lard but the whole beans don't. Overall I was satisfied with my meal but as a vegetarian it would be nice to have another protein option besides beans. (El Gitano has tofu on their menu, for example.)...

Arrived around 6pm, with lots of open seating. It definitely wasn't busy by any means, and waiting for about 5 minutes at the entrance waiting to be seated. Then a customer come to greet us because there was no staff, and told us it was open seating. We made our way to the bar and sat down directly in front of the bar tender. She didn't say anything to us, we waited. Then it wasn't a hard choice to make at that point, we got up and left. We were standing, sitting and walking around that place for 20 minutes easy without one word to us. We wanted drink And food. And now I'll probably never come back. To bad, I just moved into...

Food was actually pretty good, but the wait staff (Elisa?) was terrible. Didnt seat us, forgot to bring menus, didn't bother to ask about the meal, or bring boxes, or the bill. We had to go chase her down to get service for everything! All of which made worse by her telling her boyfriend drama to a co-worker, for literally the entire meal, at high volume, while we waited on her to remember that she had a job to do. Sorry to have to give a poor review, because as I say, the food was good and the service normally okay, but they need to check their staff or they will...
