very rude service , was my first time coming to this location & was very excited to try the different tacos they had offered. Arrived around 4:00 pm on 6/7/20, walked in after several calls bc i noticed a crowd waiting outside . Saw that they had a barricade for to go orders I had asked the woman if she can take my order in person and she said no to only call in the order , stressed I have been calling multiple times her response was we’ll get to you when we get to you keep calling . With that kind of response I decided this wasn’t a place i would want to spend my $$$ .I had asked for her name her she had responded with Casey or Cassidy some blonde young girl . Ended up driving all the way to Seaside I noticed the same location there with a lot better customer service. For me customer service is KEY wherever I go, so to have a snotty attitude when a customer asked how to place an order very disappointing. Writing this review in hopes that management can re train Casey or Cassidy on their poor customer...
Read moreIts ironic that a place dedicated to surfing and located right next to the water would serve up tacos that were so dry you'd think they came straight from the Gobi Desert
I got an order of the Surf Taco, the Mahi Taco, and the Mango Shrimp Taco. All 3 came loaded with tortilla chips (so many that we ended up taking about half of them to go for our drive back home). Each taco came loaded with veggies and greens on top of the protein - a battered piece of cod, blackened piece of Mahi Mahi and some fried shrimp. Sadly each one was very skimpy on the salsa and sauce, leaving each taco rather dry to eat. Separately, the 4 salsas on offer were all lackluster, missing flavor depth and heat. Honestly they could be better served by throwing an Old El Paso salsa on the bar for the chips.
The restaurant is decked out like a chill Cali surfer joint, and while we showed up on a rainy Sunday during Covid times, I can imagine how busy and lively this...
Read moreCame here for fish tacos. 4 star rating made me expect something great. Line out the door was a sign good things were to come.
Reality of the matter is the tacos were sub-par. I can make better tacos at home...
The fish taco was good, but only because of the white Aoli sauce. Which I imagine cannot be that hard to make.
The Garlic Shrimp taco was good as well.
The rest of the tacos however were not that good. Chicken was nothing special. The beef was atrocious. It came soggy and had no flavor.
They bring you each taco with a mound of chips. I've been to legit Mexican places before and they give you the tacos together, not a set of chips with each taco.
My wife who I was with, who HATES tacos, said that these are worse than tacos usually are.
We were at Chelsea Market the day before, and the tacos served there were more flavorful, and cheaper.
TL:DR - Tacos are OKAY at best. Long LINE. Would not...
