I saw an Instagram ad (or sponsored post?) about The Pharmacy and was intrigued so I decided to check them out. The post showed they were having a DJ and gave the door code for access since it’s a speakeasy or hidden bar. I live 7-10 minutes away and was excited about finding a cute bar in Belmont because there aren’t too many of them (or any, really). It was easy enough to find and I was able to park on the street in front. The decor is super cute, there’s an inside section with moody lighting and then a patio with games, a food truck, and patio tables. The drink menu was interesting - options to “smoke” your drink with different flavors. I saw some pretty cool drinks being made in the smoker and was told they could smoke any drink. I was in the mood for a gin cocktail so decided to go for bartender’s choice - the drink she made was good! I was expecting it to also be smoked because the bar assistant (?) asked if I wanted my drink smoked just before it was being made and I said sure…ultimately it wasn’t which was a little disappointing but I figured whatever since it was a smooth cocktail and tasted good. My main gripe was that the cocktail ended up being $25 ($20 for the cocktail, plus tip which was a dollar and change, and I tipped 20% or $4). Sure - maybe if I was in Houston, DC, or NYC…but Belmont?? That’s a stretch. And it’s not like you can make a night of it and have a nice dinner anywhere nearby, the closest “cute” restaurant I know of is in downtown Gastonia. There wasn’t a price on the menu for bartender’s choice and most of the other drinks are in the $12-15 range. Belmont just isn’t a $25 cocktail town and I was turned off. If I make it back, I’ll order a Prosecco. I ended up taking a look at their website and saw that they’re members only. Not sure if that’s still the case, but it was interesting that couples memberships were cheaper per person than individuals, which was interesting - gotta love another singles tax. Anyway, it’s good to know this place is here, cute if they have a DJ, and I know exactly what to order next time!🍾🥂

Our first visit to The Pharmacy was amazing! The drinks were creative and delicious, the atmosphere was cozy and eclectic, and the music set the perfect vibe. The staff was so welcoming and nice, which made the whole experience even better. We loved the ping pong and pool tables, plus the outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful weather. Truly a hidden gem — the perfect spot to relax and unwind!

This speakeasy has become my weekly spot, and for good reason. The cocktails are consistently some of the best I’ve ever had, and the vibe is intimate, welcoming, and just plain cool.

Mina makes the best drinks every cocktail she creates is balanced, creative, and absolutely delicious. Chris is a great bartender too, but what really makes the experience is his personality. He’s fun, engaging, and makes you feel like you’re part of the family the moment you sit down.

Between the atmosphere, the drinks, and the people, this place is easily the highlight of my week, every week. A...
