My son and I went to The Lodge Tavern & Tap for dinner on a Saturday, and we knew it would be good because the wait to be seated was about an hour. Once we were seated, we were promptly greeted by our server. The menu has items clearly marked as gluten free which I really appreciated.
My son ordered chicken tenders and fries (not gluten free). I ordered the bison burger with lettuce instead of a bun, even though they offered a GF bun for an extra 50 cents.
I also had the Mexican Caesar as my side. I asked them to bring out the salad first, and it was very fresh and delicious. It included romaine lettuce, diced tomatoes, and corn tortilla strips for extra texture. The Mexican Caesar dressing was thick, flavorful, and spicy. I used a small amount because I can handle only so much spice. Once my son's tenders arrived, I used his ranch to cool down the spice.
The burger was hot and juicy, and I had it with cheddar, tomato, onion, pickles, and mayo.
We discussed GF dessert options, and they have ice cream and banana pudding. The waitress and manager were very careful about my dessert choices, and they showed me the pudding mix ingredients list. They also make the pudding to order with bananas, vanilla wafers, and whipped cream. They excluded the wafers, and it was such a creamy, delicious treat.
The manager and staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and caring. I will definitely return, and I encourage you to...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Lodge Tavern and Tap in North Carolina, and I must commend the exceptional service provided by the assistant general manager and his staff. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and lively, but it was the staff's professionalism and attentiveness that truly stood out.
The assistant GM was incredibly hands-on, ensuring that every guest was taken care of. His friendly demeanor and willingness to engage with patrons created a relaxed, enjoyable environment. He seemed to have a great rapport with both regulars and newcomers, which speaks volumes about his leadership and management style.
The staff, from servers to bartenders, were equally impressive. They were prompt, knowledgeable about the menu, and eager to recommend drinks or meals based on personal preferences. It’s clear that the team is well-trained and takes pride in providing top-notch customer service. I was especially impressed by how smoothly everything ran, despite the tavern being busy. It’s a testament to how well the staff is coordinated and led.
Overall, Lodge Tavern and Tap is not only a great place to enjoy great food and drinks but also an example of excellent hospitality. The assistant GM and his team have created a welcoming, professional environment that keeps me coming back. If you're in the area, this is definitely a spot worth...
Read moreThe place we wanted to eat tonight was closed, so we had to find something else. This came up on the list of local places open on a Sunday night, and we ended up choosing it because of their nice sized kids menu (we have a rather picky 4 year old so options are a must).
Let me just say this first and foremost: It has been YEARS since I last had service so fantastic. Our server, Jessie, was an absolute joy. She treated us like gold and, even better, she made our little boy feel so special. Watching them make friends was so sweet and funny. It's been an hour since we left and he's still talking about her.
While we were there, the manager visited our table as well and welcomed us to the restaurant. Overall it was a genuinely very warm and welcoming experience that's hard to come by in a lot of restaurants nowadays. We felt like family.
I'd also like to give a shout-out to the bartender, Mia. That gal makes a mean margarita!
The food was delicious. I ordered the Brunswick stew. I'm particular about good Brunswick stew, and I was impressed with theirs. My husband had their Mahi plate and he enjoyed every bite. The fish was cooked perfectly and the collard greens on the side were delicious. Everything came out fast and was hot and fresh.
10/10 experience at the Lodge tonight. It was our first time visiting there but it definitely won't...
