All you can say is WOW sometimes when something so ridiculous happens. I am going out of my way to write this since I hardly ever write reviews!
Being in the service industry myself for a lot of years, I understand it. When your business LEGITIMATELY messes up an order, it's up to the business to correct it!
If I ever brought someone food, and something turned out to be blatantly wrong with it, it's no question that it should be remade! That's a pretty standard way of doing things. Your establishment messes up, you correct it.
The afternoon me and two other people attended Corona de Oro, we didn't realize we were in for a wild.
My brother, ordered a veggie burrito and they got the order wrong, in TWO ways, but he didn't say anything because it was not a big deal and we usually don't say anything for pretty minor issues.
About half way through, he bites into a chunk of meat. That's unacceptable for people with certain dietary preferences. So, he removes it and puts it aside. At this point he has to say something, understandably - you don't put MEAT into a veggie burrito...I think most people in the service industry can understand why this concept is important.
The waiter was notified of that and the previous two minor issues. He took the plate back, and then returned saying he could only offer a half-price discount since the burrito was half eaten.
For an error such as that, 99% of any other places would just remake the dang burrito and be done with it, because, that's not acceptable - even if it as "half-eaten".
Obviously, he wanted to speak to the manager. When Carlos the "manager" showed up, it took a turn for the worse. Despite the situation being explained to him, he offered the same thing, half price because of the half-eaten status. That DOESN'T matter in this situation. He couldn't understand that and had his mind made up.
There was no convincing him otherwise and from there, he ACCUSED us of potentially planting the meat in the food, out of no where! Not joking nor exaggerating! I have never experienced something like this!!!
He said he went through the burrito "himself" and didn't find any meat. Well duh, it was removed when it was bitten into! So we asked to see the plate, and they went back and got it, lo and behold, the piece of meat, that was obviously set aside was missing. Incredible.
He implied we were lying, and was being sarcastic and passive aggressive. That is not how you treat customers. After a while he just kept repeating himself and not making sense, and even threatening to call the cops if the burrito wasn't paid for.
Why would we plant meat in a veggie burrito to get a $12 burrito? Not only that, there was nothing wrong with anything else! Also, yall have CAMERAS, so go back and watch the videos if you think we "planted" meat in a burrito. Absolutely insane.
Moral of the story is don't eat here if Carlos is working, or if you expect to ever encounter something wrong...
Read moreI've gone to Coronas pretty regularly the past few years. I'd say 50% of the time they get a small detail of my order wrong. I almost never say anything. Only time I have is one time there was a long black hair on my burrito. As it turns out, the same guy (Carlos) who gave me issues the last time that happened is the reason I'm writing this review. He was trying to make me pay for my replacement food when someone else had told me I could get another burrito for free the next day. Anyways, a couple days ago I was there, ordered a veggie burrito because I am a vegetarian, with no queso and with black beans inside. There were no black beans inside and there was queso on it. I thought no big deal I'll eat it anyways. I get just over halfway thru the burrito and I get a big chunk of meat in my mouth. At this point I asked the waiter for a new burrito. He said the manager said no, and when I spoke to him (Carlos), he said he found no meat in the burrito and their policy states I can't get a new one, only a discount on another one. He must have deliberately removed the chunk of meat on my plate. The food was ruined for me and he did not care in the least. He accused me of lying about the meat being on the plate and said he would call the police if I didn't pay for the burrito. It was not after thoroughly being upset with him that he said ok you can just leave you don't have to pay. That was the worst service I've ever recieved and the man should be fired immediately. I will never come back until I...
Read moreFor this place to label itself as an authentic mexican food restaurant is laughable. From dirty silverware to a 50 minute wait time from ordering to receive food is ridiculous. For starters I order a simple carne asada plate with beans and rice and 2 carne asada tacos. The wife ordered their enchilada plate. Upon receiving the food and silverware noticed the utensils had visible food still on them. The carne asada was not marinated and was tasteless. The rice also had no flavor to it at all and was mushy. The beans weren't bad actually pretty good. The 2 carne asada tacos were actually fajita meat (and for those that say they are the same are wrong. Carne asada is made from a thinner flank cut) the tacos tasted like expired meat. I even tried to throw a bunch of puco de galo and lime on top to mask the taste and was terribly disappointed. The enchiladas has no sauce on them at all and just tasted like a gob of cheese once again not authentic mexican food. The servers themselves were nice and asked if I wanted chips and salsa 6 times which that was sadly the best food they had in this place. The only thing good about this place is that you have a stream right next to it. Other than that this place is truly just a weird idea of what someone thinks is mexican food but falls far short. I won't recommend this place to literally anybody to eat at. Its disgusting this food was so bad we didn't even finish a 1/4 of it. Just paid the...
