El Mexicano Grill and Bar — Restaurant in Belton

If you want to go to a great Mexican Restaurant , this is NOT IT!!! Run Away! My family and I used to enjoy the food but it has progressively gotten worse to where it is now horrible! Last time we went the food took forever as well as our drinks, and the food was burnt. The floorwas dirty and there were flies in the restaraunt, i took my daughter into the bathroom where there was toilet paper all over the floor as well as the disgusting garbage overflowing . We figured this is just a bad day for them. We came there last night April 15, 2013. It was not too crowded for a Mon night , we sat down an waited 10 mins for the waitress to ask what we wanted to drink. 2 lemonades & a water. As we waited another 10 min for the drinks we had no chips and dips yet, then our slow an rude waitress came forgot what my fiance ordered (water ) so didnt bring anything. Finally got our stale chips an dip. The cheese dip was soooo runny i was disgusted like soup. Asked them for some new cheese. They said thats all the cheese they made that there isnt any new cheese. My daughter was with us (6) I asked for a child menu, they said they were out. Our Lemonade tasted like cheap sugary koolaid, i couldnt even tell it was lemonade. Our food took 35 mins. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger & when she got it, it had unmelted SHREDDED cheese on it! My an my fiance chicken quesadilla came an the chicken was chewy and had fat still on it thus making it disgusting. We barel ate at all, My daughters fries were burned and our waitress didnt even check on us. There was trash all over the floor. Took my daughter to the bathroom and it was filthier than ever!!! We went in for breakfast. We were promptly greeted , given menu and our drinks. Took a bit for our server to take our order and then it was a wait for our food to arrive. My food arrived about 4 or 5 minutes before my husband got his order. My husband ordered country fried steak and eggs. Steak was hard, crunchy and had no kind of gravy on it. He said it was the worst he'd ever had. Country fried steak is his favorite breakfast. He's a truck driver and has eaten them all over the country and in the best and worst of places so for him to say this was the worst. Well, that says something huge. I ordered the divorce eggs , on the menu it's written in Spanish. Eggs were luke warm. Potatoes had no flavor, no seasoning, and no browning or color other than bland almost like they had been boiled and then fried for a minute and that's it. It was just not a good food experience. Not good at all. We don't normally go out to eat at all. We eat at home. Being a truck driver my husband eats out a lot so I enjoy cooking up good meals for him. Going out together for a meal is a treat. This was a huge disappointment and just solidifies the why's to why we eat at home. This place really needs...

The food is great and service is good. However, be careful when you put a tip on your credit card. They ran the original amount and then the amount with the tip. They did this twice to me. When I went and spoke with them the issue got escalated to the owner. She showed no type of customer service and told me this normally happens and that it will fall of on it’s own. I had to advise her the charges were charged not pending and in fact my funds would not “fall off.” She then told me to give my information to someone in the staff and will look into it. It has been almost 2 months and still no call back. It’s unfortunate that the food is good and received better customer service from the staff than the owner. You do not escalate a situation to someone higher just so in turn the owner disregards the issue and tells you to just give your contact information to someone in the staff. Sorry, but she could have taken my information, shown empathy, and acknowledged the issue.
