It's very rare that my 70 year old mother has a taste for hardly anything but on this day she wanted a cold sundae on a hot day. She asked me to stop by Braum's for an ice cream sundae. The employee at the drive thru speaker kept getting her order wrong so I went inside to order my mom's sundae. I left my mom in the car to go inside and get her sundae. The young lady in the restaurant was a student hire and she was very confused on how to make the sundae and was getting it wrong. It took a very long time to get the sundae and I was the only person in line.
I was totally understanding with the fact that the young lady was new but it seemed as if her peers there should have been helping her out more. I had to flag down a manager to complete the order. The service only gets two stars this time because I had to have my mom wait in the hot car for so long and management wasn't even apologetic and cognizable to the fact that I have been waiting so long for just one ice cream with hardly anyone inside ordering. I don't hold the new student worker responsible because, working in the food service industry for over 25 years myself, I understand how scary it can be, being new on the job with little experience.
Tip for this restaurant: Don't leave your new hires hanging and walk through with them the correct ways to prep food, engage with customers, and make food presentable. A customer who was there was laughing at how the young lady was making a banana split. It was apparent that she needed to be trained a little better.
I was embarrassed going back to my car so late and, even though I will forever be a customer at Braum's this experience for my mom was enough. She told me in the car she will never order from this store again.
I may go back this week and hopefully things will change where I can leave a better review. Kudos, however, to the young lady who was working grocery here. She was really sweet, which is why I give two stars...
Read moreI brought my grandkids here for ice cream on a Saturday afternoon, March 11, 2023. It was not busy or crowded. Yet the service was a huge dissapointment! 1st I recieved two ice cream dishes & two drinks, & a snack but NO tray to carry it all on. So Im struggling as No one would stop to give me a tray as I stood there trying to get someone behind the counter to acknowledge me! Seriously, who doesn't put all your food items on a tray! It's a simple step! Then there were NO spoons & No napkins & No ice for drinks. I stood at the counter totally being ignored until I raised my voice, feeling annoyed, to be acknowledged. The table with such was empty in the dining room. Ice was not working at the soda machine. The one person working the food area finally acknowledged me & slapped some spoons down on the counter, then returned & filled cups less than half full with ice. But she acted totally annoyed at being asked for assistance. I returned to get the kids some napkins & same issue! And mind you it was hot & ice cream was melting before the kids could even eat it due to NO spoons to eat it with! And my hands were covered in melted ice cream due to intial NO tray & trying to juggle it all & keys & wallet! Had I not had my gkids I would have not paid & walked out! This was not a case of beingshorthanded. This was workers not doing their job and not caring! Literally turning their backs to the registers & counters. Noted! We won't be going back! My $$'s will...
Read moreBraum’s in Benbrook is one of those places you can count on for a satisfying meal and a sweet treat without breaking the bank. I’ve visited several times, and each experience has been consistently pleasant. The burgers are always freshly made, with soft buns, juicy patties, and crisp toppings. The crinkle-cut fries are a perfect companion—crispy on the outside and soft inside. They come out hot, and the portion size is generous for the price.
What really makes Braum’s stand out, though, is the ice cream. Whether you’re grabbing a cone, a sundae, or a shake, the quality is top-notch. The flavors are rich and creamy, and there’s a wide variety to choose from. I’ve tried their peppermint, chocolate almond, and strawberry—each one has been delicious.
The inside of the restaurant is clean and well-kept, and the staff is generally friendly, even when the place is busy. Speaking of which, the only downside is that sometimes it can get a little crowded, especially in the evenings or on weekends. Parking can be a bit tight too, but not too much.
Overall, Braum’s in Benbrook delivers great value, tasty food, and delicious ice cream. It’s not fancy, but it’s a local favorite for a reason.
I recently got a shake on drive thru and it was tasteful! Best ice cream and...
