I made some mistakes with regards the Asian Grille Buffet, and the time for restitution is here! If like me you have been driving past this place Day in and day out not bothering to stop for one reason or another it is time my friends, it is time to enjoy the amazing selection and service at Asian grill buffet.
My last visit was right at the beginning of covid. The movie The joker had just come out. People were staying home more than not and when I visited the place was empty. Being empty and being run in a thoughtful manner, the buffet was sparse. The staff was friendly and more than willing to help you find whatever you were in the mood for at the drop of a hat it really was special but I didn't realize how special until today.
I decided to have fasting blood work done after noon, but I woke up before 6:00 😫. Doesn't matter I was dreaming about stuffing my face with seafood delight and I was not disappointed when my food deprived nausea almost led me to a bush 🤣. Thank goodness I resisted and I stuffed my face and omg.
I am sick of seeing all of these reviews of people saying "best Chinese in town." Not all the restaurants can be the best lol. And to be fair this one is not the best (I still consider Chan's garden to be the best if you're looking for a traditional menu). This is however the best buffet I've had in a while. And I'm including some of the nicer buffets in Grand rapids.
The potstickers are fabulous they were fresh and crispy on the outside and had that perfect flavor on the inside they even had pot sticker sauce. The crab rangoons are the best buffet crab rangoons that I can recall. I'm a lo mein fiend and the lo mein was fresh and flavorful with fresh veggies in it and there were plenty of protein options throughout the buffet.
I'm trying to think of something less than positive only thing I can think of is the egg rolls. They weren't bad; you might say they weren't bad enough for my taste. I like my egg rolls nice and greasy with a little bit of peanut flavor... These had excellent texture which if you have any experience with egg rolls in a Chinese buffet you know that's hard to pull off. They were crispy on the outside just the right amount of chewy on the inside but then the fillings were not The kind I prefer that's all.
I feel like I've said enough I hope I can encourage you to give this place a try if you've been driving past it day in and day out - I can't believe I forgot the staff. They have hibachi like real hibachi The guy who does the hibachi I don't know if he throws eggs but it looked amazing (I was too busy stuffing my face with everything else on the buffet to try the hibachi lol). The guy who refilled the buffet was also extraordinarily friendly and helpful; I don't know how they pulled it off cuz I only saw three people but it felt like the service of 10. And considering a football team or something came in while I was there and the buffet didn't run empty it's just it's pretty incredible compared to what I've seen at other places so I think that covers it. This place gets top notch...
Read moreMy husband and I took our 2 kids on a mini vacation. We stayed at a hotel about 2 minutes away from this restaurant. It was 8pm and we decided to run and grab a bite to eat so we decided to eat at this restaurant. Worse decision we have ever made in our life. We decided to make a plate for the restaurant to cook for us. Not only did that take 25 minutes, BUT there was raw meet hanging from the tongs you use to grab the food and put on your plate. When I brought this to their attention and asked to please get us new tongs they just pulled the raw chicken off the tong like It was no big deal. I asked again to please get me new tongs. After asking about 5 times they had an aggressive attitude towards us and finally went and grabbed new tongs. I can only imagine how much salmonella was transferred between tongs. The food was cold and the staff who worked there weren't friendly at all. I didn't even think they deserve 1 star and if I could change it to 0 I would. I never complain about any place online, but I think the public needs to know how disgusting and rude this establishment is. Next time we will try the place across the street. We had the nice couple behind us telling us how much better the buffet is across the street. I would suggest to just drive by this place and eat...
Read moreI have eaten here in the past when I was able to dine in, but this was my first experience with take out. The ordering process was quick and easy, and my order was ready about 10 minutes after ordering. I really liked the fact that I received a text letting me know that my order was ready to pick up. When I arrived, they had signs on the door saying that you would only be served if you had a mask (not a problem for me). I ordered the broccoli beef combo. The fried rice wasn't great, but the rest of the food was excellent! I also got an order of steamed dumplings and they were really good. They give you extremely generous portions of food. The staff was friendly and made sure that I had all of the sauce and silverware that I needed before leaving. I will definitely be back. 5/5...
