My mom, my sister, & myself decided to try the new menu. First we ordered two appetizers meatballs and cheese/sausage tray. Meatballs were homemade very big and were good. The sausage/cheese tray was really good but definitely needs crackers served with it. We got a BLT, Pimento cheese burger, and a regular burger, loaded cheese fries, & sweet potato tater tots. Sandwiches were good and very big. Tots were good but the loaded cheese fries we didn’t like at all. I believe the cheese sauce is what we didn’t think tasted good. For dessert we ordered the key lime pie. Let just say it was good but the way it was served was in the plastic container that it was purchased it. We looked up the brand and you can buy it at Kroger for $2.99 and save yourself some money. We had to get up to find our server to get refills on drinks and finally decided to stop trying to find her if we needed a refill and just shared a glass. Nice place but definitely needs a bit of work on serve, redo the cheese sauce recipe, & definitely serve the dessert better. Had the dessert been taken out of the wrapper you would have never known it was store bought. Could serve it on a plate with drizzle and then top with a slice of lime. We did let them know that we didn’t like the fries and they did take off some for that. For the 3 of us our bill was 89 before tip so plan on spending at least a $100. Might go back but not...
Read moreThe one server and bartender did thier best with a packed restaurant, no complaints there. The food took awhile to come out; that's understandable, I'm not upset over that either because I would assume the kitchen was minimum staff as well. However, the food was so bad. Two burgers at 15 dollars a pop that were burnt on the outside and so dry it was like having a mouth full of sand. We added fries for 2 bucks per meal; that's reasonable until you see you get a toddler size handful of cold and soggy ones. The bacon on my burger to say it was chewy would be generous. I will hand it to them they do use quality thick cut bacon but after sending it back to be crispy, it was crispy on the outside, soggy inside.
Price point is not on par with with quality of the food. Atmosphere was cliché and gave off "hip new millennial restaurant". I feel bad for the staff that busted their tail and likely suffer the consequences of the poor food on their tips. I still tipped 20%, it is not the server's fault.
Edit Reply to the owner's comment - thank you for your prompt response to my review. I am not one to complain in a restaurant, demand to speak to the owner/manger, or ask for a comp. You have a business with operating costs so it's only fair we pay for our...
Read moreThis is quickly becoming the best restaurant in Benton, if not Saline County. The food is top notch! I had a gyro the first time with their scratch made sweet potato tots that pair perfectly with the curry ketchup and cream cheese and cinnamon ‘happy camper’ sauce.
On my second time I had the cheese steak and it is by far one of the best I’ve ever had. The thinly sliced sirloin, caramelized onions and peppers with a coating of mayo on the toasted hoggie was once again, top notch! Also, the shoestring fries paired really well and the $8 pours of buffalo trace is more than fair.
I had the pleasure of working with Craig and Heather when they first opened the Benton location of Baja grill, which is just next door and serves great cali-mex style cuisine. They live the life of real deal restauranteurs and their passion shows in the food they put out at all three of their neighboring restaurants.
I highly recommend that anyone in town or any locals try out Revival, you will not be...
