I've worked in many corporate restaurants in my life, I hate to comment negatively but I feel feedback is desperately needed for this Denny's in Bentonville AR.
FIRST VISIT TO DENNY'S: Me and my fiance tried this Denny's a few months ago on a Sunday. It was busy as expected... but we got two seats at the bar (right in front of the food and drink station) because everyone else had larger parties and were waiting to be seated at a table.
I was ready for my morning coffee.. but was told it would be a few minutes to brew a new pot. My fiance ordered an orange juice, got that no problem and finished it within a few minutes.
I still had no coffee after waiting 30 minutes for our waitress to come back with it and take our order. My fiance never got a refill. Our waitress passed us several times without even looking up to acknowledge us. She forgot us. We set some money down for our one drink and left... Never thought I would go back. -While we were sitting for 30 minutes (being forgotten) I noticed several issues with the restaurant's efficiency. The biggest mistake was that tables were not being cleaned after people paid and left. How do you make money without turning tables? Also it was quiet and eye sore and discouraging to people coming in seeing plenty of dirty tables and waiting up to 30 minutes for a finally cleaned table that could have been ready, and cleaned again at that point for new customers to come in. (I think this Denny's would benefit largely from hiring a "bus boy" or "bus girl" maybe even two or three.) Servers were not "utilizing their steps". I saw a lot of movement back in fourth with many trips when the same 2 or 3 things could be accomplished in 1 travel to and from the kitchen possible (saving tons of time and literally money for everyone). The host was not properly trained to seat people in correct sections of the restaurant not to completely overwhelm busy servers and get people seated in a timely manner all in the same. Maybe servers should have less tables to their sections if they cannot handle the amount given to them? Cut back tables in each section and add a few more servers... that might help.
SECOND VISIT TO DENNY'S: Sat in the same spot on the bar with my fiance a few weeks ago... I got my coffee. He got his juice... didn't get a refill and got forgotten (Once again!) The manager was our server and after 15 minutes of waiting this time, and noticing her attention was elsewhere, I flagged her down to get us refills and take our order. She apologize and even said she forgot us. (maybe there is something about forgetting what's right in front of you?) Nevertheless, she got our order... Food came out quickly, but she forgot my pancakes as part of my order... she corrected and we got everything we needed. Food was very good quality and still hot.
Overall, the food is great, the service is less to be desired. Get some more people in this restaurant and get the corporate office to train their employees on all fronts.
I have faith this place could be turned around... with lots of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn a Normal Sunday I would usually go to the restaurant I am employeed at for breakfast but my family and I wanted to try something new. First off I would like to start off my saying this establishment is EXTREMELY UNSANITARY! We parked behind the restaurant, as we walked up to the restaurant to the path way that leads to the front I noticed 3 employees outside smoking along with the manager. We were not even greeted. When we got to the door there was no greeter or host, the only person I saw was a man in the kitchen who did not seem to be happy to be there. My family and I stood there waiting at the stand that said "please wait to be seated" As soon as we were getting ready to walk out, I saw the manager coming in with the employees, she grabbed some menus for us and sat us at the corner booth to the right, WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS! She reaked of cigarette smoke and told us we would have to wait to have our drink order taken. After she told us that she continued to converse with an employee and looked at us several times, mind you that we still hadn't had our drink order taken, nor introduced to our server. I find this very disrespectful as I'm paying money for this kind of treatment? After waiting for 10 minutes I had to walk to the counter where the manager was standing, along with employees and ask if we could have our drink order taken. (I was very patient, and nice while asking for our drinks). When I went back to my seat, Rhonda came and got our drink order, but she was not thrilled about it, I could tell. She introduced herself as our server, but I knew she was a manager because her name tag says "General Manager" and the fact that I have been in this Denny's before, for a to go order. Rhonda took our food order, and I was curious to know why she was wearing an apron and our server if she was a manager? I thought maybe they were short staffed, so I asked her why she was our server and a manger, she replied with "Well I serve too, but that's between us". I looked at my wife astonished, and quite confused. Our food came out in a decently time manner, however part of our order was missing. My children's pancakes never came, along with my side of bacon. I had to remind Rhonda what I ordered and after telling her she stood there and stared at me as if she was confused. My wife commented that she looked like she was on drugs and I AGREE. By this time I was just ready to pay for my food and leave. We rushed through our meal, because of our unpleasant experience we were having. We recieved our check from Rhonda, I normally add a tip on my credit card, but Rhonda suggested I leave it on the table. Personally I find that to be VERY RUDE, not to mention DEMANDING! I now see why there are so many negative reviews about this establishment. I will NOT be back nor will I refer anyone...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to the Bentonville location and waited 30 minutes to be seated and the hostess kept saying it will be a minute and they finally got a booth ready but we are big people and can't fit in a booth so then we waited 10 more minutes for a half booth half table. Once we got seated the waitress took our drinks. I didn't catch her name but she said she was helping out from the Fort Smith location. When she started to take our order the hostess said not to take our orders that the kitchen was backed up and needed to catch up, and the waitress said they've been sitting here for awhile. I asked the hostess how long it's going to be she said just a few minutes, not long the kitchen just needs to catch up and I don't want to add more tickets for them to do yet. After the hostess walked away the waitress let us know there was issues in the kitchen and they were only using 2 fryers and one cooking top. And they had been behind for an hour and it would probably be 45 minutes till we get our food after they can take our order. Now I can understand if equipment is not working and being behind, so instead of letting us know up front and letting us waist our time we were there for and hour and didn't even get our order taken. The table next to us got seated while we were waiting to be seated and still didn't have there food. The waitress that was helping from the Fort Smith location was very nice and said she would cover our drinks. This was a horrible experience and I was just wanting to enjoy a nice breakfast with my husband and his mom and dad. So we left and went to Ihop and I made sure to tell the customers that were waiting what was going on so they wouldn't waist there time like we did!!! This could have all been less upsetting if we would of known up front that there was issues in...
