A North Indian style ( punjabi, more previously) restaurant, a pretty new addition to NWA food scene. The inside is neat, and tidy including the restroom. Everything is new, the plates, silverwares and table mats are clean. The staff are also cool. We ordered Bhalla papdi chat, and dahi puri. Dahi puri was average, and the Bhalla papdi chat was pretty decent. At least, everything was fresh and crisp. Taste wise, I was missing something, but again, chat is very regional and personal. I like it loaded with date- tamarind, but others might not. So it’s understandable. The masala tea was too milky for me. I love ‘kadak’ chai ( stronger in taste, less sweet, fragrant with green cardamom). Again this is a personal preference, so can’t really complain. In the main course, we ordered garlic naan with butter chicken. The butter chicken was yum! I have had a good butter chicken after ages. Taste wise it was so balanced. The tandoori chicken arrived a bit later. It was decent, nothing over the top. They served two leg quarters, which was pretty good amount.
The other day I went back for kulcha in the weekend. The kulcha came with chhole ( garbanzo beans). The kulcha ( a typical flatbread with some stuffing) was great. The aloo paratha and another paneer/ gobi paratha was good too. All these parathas were served with raita. We requested for some pickles and the owner/ staff gave us some home- made one. It was good, but I expected some spicy and hot pickle.
They sell some fresh sweets in the counter too. We bought some rasmalai back home. It’s decent, little grainy and too sweet, tastes like a home made one.
Overall, I’m pretty hopeful about this place, and highly recommend others to give it a try. Their service is a bit slow. So go there with some time in hand. At least it’s good that, they are...
Read moreWe have been a regular customer of Kirpa and we really enjoyed the food, until they served us stale and foul smell potato stuffed samosa. When we entered and ordered, aunty said it will take 20-25 minutes atleast because we will be making fresh samosa, but the samosas came in 10 minutes only and what they have served confidently is stale and foul smell potato stuffing inside the samosa. Despite of being politely informed about the taste and foul smell to the staff, they disagree and said that it’s so fresh. On the top it aunty said in very negative attitude that you will not get fresh samosa than this anywhere, when we tried to said that we have eaten fresh samosa here at your restaurant, without even listening to us she said ya you know what’s fresh because you are Indian.
What the hell? Where she was coming from then, and why they are using Indian name for their restaurant when they aren’t Indian or doesn’t respect Indian either.
Even she wasn’t finished and making comments with his staff….they just want to eat a single plate samosa….what does that mean that they will judge based how much you order and then they will give you respect…Pathetic. Regardless of whatever amount of food you want to order no one should be judged based on that.
This was worst experience ever, i wish if I could have an options to give negative stars to their hospitality and racism behavior...
Read moreDinner for 6 on a Sunday evening. We couldn't have asked for better prepared dishes, pleasing presentation or a more interactive chef/owner. Samosas for starters all around, savory filling with a perfectly fried exterior. Served with 2 house made sauces, a sweet and complex tamarind and a lush mint sauce with a hint of heat. Gobhi Manchurian, a delight to they eyes and palate. The bulk of our crew ordered "Chicken Tikka Marsala" at various levels of spice for their main. The most overheard comment was that these Brits, hadn't had a curry that good, since they left the UK (the birthplace of that dish, as well) Perfectly proportioned, expertly seasoned to everyone's individual liking and served with the best Basmati rice I've ever tasted. If you have concerns with the inclusion of certain spices or flavor profiles the chef is most accommodating. I opted for a 'curry free' dish and was presented with a take on 'Butter Chicken" in a wonderfully creamy and delicate sauce which paired effortlessly with the Basmati and amazing Garlic Naan. The menu boasts a good selection of dishes and healty amount of Vegetarian dishes, hot and cold beverages & desserts. I highly recommend this spot for authentic tastes, a casual atmosphere, family friendly, family owned and operated and priced right. We can't wait to return, taking new and...
