Ok if you really Know what a Mediterranean Restaurant is then you know what to expect.
For those of you who don't know what a Mediterranean restaurant is then let me enlighten you. Okay most of you've heard of hummus made out of chickpeas. It's got sesame stuff in it. Yeah it's good and falafel... Falafel is the Middle Eastern Big Mac only better. Totally vegetarian and the recipe for it will vary from country to country. I have been lucky enough to have traveled some in that area and have lived in Sicily for a number of years in my life. These guys do their absolute best to put authentic, homemade Mediterranean food on the table. It makes no difference if you're looking for a falafel and hummus and Lamb kabobs or if you're looking for something else like pasta, they've got it. They don't have a large selection of any of the different types of Mediterranean foods. They only have what I would call the old standards and they are all of the highest quality. These guys even know how to cook beef tenderloin in a way that I like and everyone knows that Americans are the real experts when beef is involved... I have come to the opinion that they just don't have enough business. This is an issue I can't understand because they have very high quality food and they serve it In a manner that's equal to any other high-end restaurant in Northwest Arkansas and the prices are not bad.
My last visit was a Birthday dinner for my daughter who was turning 50. Everybody ordered whatever they wanted or thought they wanted. The table was covered with food. I had the hickory beef tenderloin and it was fantastic. I have had this dish before. My lovely wife is half Lebanese so she's picky about her Mediterranean food also. So dinner for 4 was only $220 including a 20% tip and all taxes. For an all out "it's your birthday" order Anything you want! If you think you want it, order it, it'll be okay. I think that price was very reasonable.
Joey the Coonhound sure loved the leftovers he got the next day.
I have been wondering why they aren't more busy, because other than Friday/Saturday night the place is never crowded ... I think it's because people just aren't that familiar with the types of Mediterranean food that occur outside of pizza and lamb kabobs! Just go try it. I think you'll like it if you don't then yell at...
Read moreFood served here deserves 5 star rating, but going to go by 2 stars only!! Good things first - food is absolutely awesome. They taste so fresh and delicious. Their pita breads are one of the awesomeness i have tasted, yes i have tried pita breads in multiple awesome states but this one is undeniably delicious.
Oh well, 2 stars is NO mistake. Their serving time is very terrible and slow. Seeing only couple of staffs(during the time i am writing this review) inside the restaurant. They didnt even take the order for first 20 minutes, i was honestly starting to feel sleepy inside. I wanted to walk out, but still tried hard to be patient and taste their food. Serving time between appetizer and main course was longer than my waiting time of them taking my orders. I went around 7:50 pm and got out around 9:30pm. Took my order around 8:15, got my main course to my table at 9:10pm. For one plate of appetizer and 2 main courses, it felt terrible to wait that long and did not have chance to enjoy their awesomeness of those delicious fresh foods.
This restaurant lacks staffing and hope they rectify this problem soon. I wud prefer fast serving restaurants like Tazikis over this any day though food here tastes...
Read moreIt was our first & last time to this restaurant- to be fair, we are from another state and we’re just visiting. I absolutely love Mediterranean food- especially Turkish !! After having lived there for a summer, I enjoy eating this cuisine as often as possible. We chose this place as it was close to our hotel and the menu looked good. Let’s get to the details- timid waiter needs a lot more practice in speaking to customers. Service was OK. We got the mezze platter - he would not have explained what things were if I had not asked once it arrived. I also ordered a side of tabbouleh - which was awful!!! Who puts vinegar in tabbouleh?? It is supposed to be made with juice of lemons! A complete disappointment and waste of money. The pita was hot, fresh tasting and delicious ; ) The baba ganoush was overly smoky in my opinion. The hummus was good. The falafel were very good and I enjoyed it a lot more than the rubbery chicken kabob pieces. Lamb was cooked well and tasty. The lack of music - Turkish would be great to hear while eating the themed cuisine - coupled with a huge wall of no art, only dusty wall sconces, made the atmosphere and the whole...
