I deleted a bad review I left here and replacing it was a good one. They addressed a serious issue with their old Hard Shells, and the new ones are much better, thank you!. The Food was good. Their Queso Blanco is 10/10. I got their Ghost Whisper Tacos on both visits, and holy smokes do they pack some heat. I'm talking, eyes tearing up, nose running, feel-it-the-next-day hot. Not for the faint of heart. Their new shells are super crisp and crunch loudly when you bite into them. Defiantly not Old El Paso. I will say that the Double Deez style is tasty, but kinda overpriced. Its $4 extra per order for hard shells, and a smearing of queso and Guac. You pay extra for Guac at Chipotle, but its a heaping scoop. The Staff were cute and friendly. The Atmosphere is nice with the red and black branding from the logo, to the decor, to the napkins. The Mural is the back would make a great tattoo. They could benefit from kind of fans though. There was no circulation and we were sweating before our food came out.

This place is great! Went on a Saturday night during Restaurant Week, so the place was packed. It was going to be a 45 minute wait but the owner came to the front and made us room at the bar right away. Super accommodating and very nice lady. The margaritas are amazing. I’m always nervous Bubbvored margaritas bc they’re always too sweet. Not at Ghost Pepper! Delicious. The queso portion was huge. It was very good, although admittedly not a big queso fan. I prefer guac but my partner wanted queso. I got the Bubba (shrimp). The shrimp could have been seasoned more, but it wasn’t over cooked like you’ll often find at taco places. If we didn’t order an app, I would have still been hungry from an entree alone. Thankfully their app choices are on point. Will definitely be here again! Well done.

I’ll start this review by saying how much I love Barrio. But, my wife and I decided to give this place a try tonight. And- wow, I’d so glad we did. Every part of our meal was quality. We ordered a margarita flight ($3 off on Thursdays, I think). They were great. We ordered some chicken tacos. They were so good. The flavors were deep and the meat was very high quality. The chicken was much better than Barrio (and remember- I LOVE Barrio). We ordered chips and queso. The chips tasted freshly made. Finally, we ordered nachos. If we came back, my wife and I would consider only ordering this and margaritas. We ended up only eating half. I’d definitely recommend. We’ll be back.

This would be a great place for the appetizer portion of a progressive dinner if you got the queso, which was thick & delicious. The margaritas were like the ones I make at home from scratch - delicious. The salsa was the most bland salsa I've ever had - we added TONS of salt, but it seemed to be missing some spices, particularly cumin. The tacos were edible, but also pretty bland - and I don't just mean hot spiciness that they say they will add if requested. Flavorful but mild tacos exist - just not here.

I lived in Arizona for 7 years. I don't really expect a taco joint in the Midwest to compare - but their website says, "We have traveled around the U.S.A. getting inspiration from some of the best taco and Mexican joints that we could find." So... I was pretty excited, then disappointed.

Response to GP: I'd be willing to try one more time to see if it's different. But I just assume that the food is a Midwestern interpretation of Arizona-Sonoran cuisine. I remember once overhearing an Ohioan visiting Arizona say that the salsa was too spicy for them - but it was a mild...

food and drinks are incredible. BUT. their hours are stupid. They aren’t open late enough. It’s a Friday night at 8:49 pm. There are 16 people here right now including myself and I have 3 other people on their way to meet me and i just heard the bartender say the kitchen closes at 9 and “because it’s slow, she’s going to try closing the bar down at 930”. We also tried adding an order to our table at 8:53 and was told they closed the kitchen to come back a few minutes later and said they’d do it. It’s 9:11 and the bartender has been cleaning and feels like she’s ignoring us because she’s trying to leave. Fast forward to 9:30 and the bartender dropped off our tabs without us asking for them. There are 7 people here at the moment. It’s just beyond disappointing that there’s such limited time to enjoy this bar and it seems to feel so...
