McDonald's — Restaurant in Bergenfield

A Mickey D's like any other, revamped for maximum assembly line production. It's amazing that in my lifetime this brand has become second nature in our daily lives. I know it's not good for me, but I go there many times automatically. The drive thru is the lure. And cheap prices. The one dollar sodas are a genius idea. Bergenfield, like so many other locations, has the twin drive thru lanes. Strange how it seems to flow better in the morning breakfast trade, but the sheer volume of the afternoon traffic cripples it. This location has been very popular since it opened a few years ago. I timed a 20+ minute wait on three different occasions, and that is with two cars wait to order in each of the twin lanes. Some dumb drivers do not understand the logic of alternating the merge to blend the two lanes back to one for the windows. even I've even pulled away to the dismay of my kids because we simply ran out of time between school pick up and their after school activity. If I see the car line is back up well beyond the twin lanes, I'll keep driving. I can only imagine the pace that is being pushed on the employees when they are being slammed. This is typical of most brands of fast food operations, even the single line variety. We are a nation of salt and grease addicts, with sugary liquids to wash it down. Worst service, rude managers and staff. Numerous times have not received the correct order with my receipt and had to go back to drive through. I always show the receipt for items. They dont believe me, and I literally drove around the building and got back on line minutes ago. The manager and staff have treated me as if I wanted free food from a $40. Order. They refused to honor my item they failed to put in my previous order, said if I went to another location Bergenfield NJ they'd send the security camera pic of me and my license plate so I wouldnt get service. Manager refused to identify herself. I had felt I needed to call corperate the next day considering this situation was so bizzare, it's been going on for over a yr. Since the new remodel, lost the best group of employees. The customer service reps. I spoke to were unqualified customer service who were literally the same type of people with attitudes, they wouldnt file any complaints and concerns and don't acknowledge the issues that are long standing here in River Edge and Bergenfield NJ locations. I'm out of over $25. Of food never got in my order w a receipt I ordered 5 min before...Our many local acquaintances refuse to come here and River Edge location, these locations share managers btw. I have been in this restaurant at least 4 times, always a weird experience. To begin with it doesn't feel at all like a "Bergenfield" fast food restaurant like Wendy's or Burger King, it is a "rough", on the edge like an "inner city" type of joint. Then they have an experimental system to order the food where the customer has to check on a digital panel and pay with his debit then you get a number, sometimes the number doesn't come out, I never know whether my order went through on the computer or not. There is no one on the front desk to verify or to ask a question or to help the clients figure out how to order the food. The workers seem to hide in the back to avoid answering questions and forcing the client to figure things out without their help. If some worker has to be by the front desk, they tend to avoid eye contact with clients as if not to encourage the clients to order from them or ask any questions to them. Strangely, one only sees in the restaurant mostly restless and rowdy middle school students being loud in harmony with the hip hop music playing in the restaurant.
