We had dinner here on a Sunday night when the restaurant wasn't super crowded. It was a very nice dining experience. This is a BYOB with a casual atmosphere that is very family friendly. The menu has a nice selection, service was attentive, portions were generous and prices were reasonable. Plus super accommodating of food allergies and no problem at all with substitutions. The food we ordered was absolutely delicious, and a nice large ice bucket was provided for our wine. We started with an arugula and orange salad. At our request it was split in the kitchen (more than enough for two people) and the shaved parmesan cheese and dressing were put on the side. The lentil soup was hot and tasty, and not salty at all. For dinner the grilled shrimp (6) with green beans in a spicy red pepper sauce was terrific. The chicken scarpiello was so tender that it could be cut without a knife, and there was no problem substituting sweet peppers for spicy peppers. The apple tart with vanilla gelato was a great dessert, accompanied by espresso and mint tea. Our water glasses were refilled without asking, our table was promptly cleared between courses, and everything was spaced perfectly. Kudos to our server Arber and all the staff who assisted him. Parking is easy because the restaurant is in a large shopping center. We had a very enjoyable dinner and plan to return.

We had my dad’s 75th birthday party there. The owner did a wonderful job communicating with me before the party and offered great menu suggestions. Service was outstanding from start to finish, even on a busy Saturday night. Everyone raved about the food, from the appetizers to the entrees. There was a lot of sampling going on at the table because everyone wanted everyone else to try what they were having because it was so good. Berkeley Heights is lucky to have this gem of restaurant.

A lovely stop for lunch on our way out of town. I’m originally from NJ and now live in Vermont and miss real Italian food. Amerigo is exactly what we were looking for. From the marinara on the penne pasta to the bread crumbs on the chicken parm and amazing baked ziti, bread, truffle fries, etc…everything filled our bellies to the brim and satisfied every taste we were craving. I’ve been a long time patron at Fiorinos in Summit and this is the same family. Wonderful family and food.

From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth and passion that only a family-run establishment can give. The ambiance is inviting and charming, offering the perfect setting for an unforgettable meal. The staff are attentive and friendly, ensuring that every visit feels special.

The menu reflects years of expertise, dishes that are as comforting as they are refined. The Oso Buco is a standout masterpiece!.The veal shank, slow-braised until it’s impossibly tender, is paired with a rich, flavorful sauce (just perfect) that speaks to the heart of Italian cooking.(I'm very passionate about my food, I can't stop thinking about this dish)

The Spicy Penne is another must-try. Cooked to al dente perfection, the pasta is tossed in a bold and zesty tomato sauce with a hint of garlic and spice that’s perfectly balanced. We split the pasta but secretly I wish I ordered my own. Next time, for sure.

The Stuffed Clams Oreganata, an appetizer that I highly recommend. The clams are filled with a savory breadcrumbs, seasoned just right with oregano, and baked until golden and irresistible.

I almost forgot, we started with the Cesar Salad, creamy and perfectly crispy. They make it with anchovies or without. We had it with anchovies. Simple but such a great classic starter.

With decades of culinary passion, Amerigo Ristorante isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place to experience the heart and soul of Italian family dining. I already asked if they could host my next celebration in the cozy back room. I will be hosting my mothers's 75 birthday celebration there in a couple weeks for a party of 35. I couldn't be happier to have such a gem, right here in my neighborhood.

This is a restaurant you will want to return again and again- truly a hidden gem, in Berkeley Heights. I can promise you, you will not be disappointed. As a big foodie, this will be my new go...

Spicy Rigatoni and Stellar Service Make This Spot a Must-Visit

I had the pleasure of dining at Amerigo, and it was an experience to remember. The highlight of the evening was, without a doubt, their spicy rigatoni. Cooked to absolute perfection, the pasta was coated in a creamy, flavorful sauce with just the right kick of heat—a dish that’s both comforting and exciting. It’s clear that the chefs take pride in their craft, as every bite was a delightful balance of spice and richness.

The ambiance was equally impressive. With its warm lighting, tasteful decor, and a buzz of cheerful conversation, Amerigo manages to feel both chic and inviting. Whether you’re out for a date night or catching up with friends, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer.

The service truly elevated the experience. Our server was attentive and friendly, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine warmth. They ensured our glasses stayed full and that we were well taken care of throughout the evening, all without feeling rushed.

From the delicious spicy rigatoni to the top-notch service and relaxing atmosphere, Amerigo has earned a spot on my list of favorites. If you’re looking for a restaurant that ticks all the boxes, this is it. I can’t wait to go back and try more...
