Sandwiches are great and they have other great options to go with it that are consistently a good quality.
Just be cognizant that the place is pricey - up to $18 for two egg sandwiches (one with cheese and one with bacon) on plain bagels or $9 for a pound of macaroni salad are a couple of examples, so just be aware so there's no sticker shock when you get your bill.
DON: Since you seem to enjoy debating pricing when people complain, see my response: 1) based on what you just wrote in your response, it would be $17 for two egg sandwiches on a bagel and I said "up to $18"..either way, that is INSANE for two sandwiches in any way, shape or form; 2) On Grubhub, it is $4.25 for a half pound of macaroni salad. $4.25X2 = $8.50 - I rounded up to $9.
You should take what people are saying as constructive criticism rather than debating math in these reviews. People obviously think some things are a bit pricey and maybe you should take another look at your pricing. Friendly suggestion.
DON: Last comments I'll make because I honestly can't believe I've spent so much time with this:
This place loves to hire people that don't listen to a word you say. Tonight I ordered for pickup by phone with someone named Sean. My instructions went in one ear, out the other. Unfortunately I got all the way home before I realized my order was incorrect. I called and complained, and got refunded. Then I ordered the same thing through DoorDash (paid double for it to be delivered!!!!) and called the store again to reiterate my instructions. Once again - Sean is talking over me and cares more about putting on his fake customer service voice than getting my order right. I wait an hour and receive a ping from DoorDash saying my order was cancelled. Time for my third phone call with Sean! He says it was cancelled after speaking to support because "they couldn't find a driver" - and ordering DoorDash 5x a week, I can assure you that's not the reason. So I contact DoorDash and catch him in a lie. The only documentation DoorDash has of why the order is cancelled is because the store is "temporarily closed." This kid is spiteful and now it's too late for me to order from anywhere else, so I'll go to bed hungry. Extremely condescending staff offering to show me their security footage to prove they couldn't find a driver... maybe put that energy into getting peoples food right the first time. Won't be going back. Food is way too mediocre for that kind...
Read moreThere are so few kosher or kosher style delicatessens around anymore so when we were on the area we drove out of our way a little to come here. They are not kosher as it is clearly denoted in the deli, but either are we so that is not a problem We ordered a corned beef sandwich and a beef brisket sandwich and my wife and I shared so we had a half of each. We also asked for coleslaw for the corned beef and gravy for the brisket. The gravy was no charge but we had to pay a buck for the small cup of coleslaw. They offered to bring pickles to the table but must have forgotten. We could have reminded the waitress but we decided we would be better off not eating them anyway. We also ordered kasha var and a knish. The knish was good but the gravy they serve with the kasha (same as gravy for brisket) was not very good. The waitress was nice and pleasant, the corned beef is lean, and that's about all that is good about it. The brisket is dry so needs gravy, but theirs was a disappointment. The cost is close to the typical deli. Bottom line, if you just want a corned beef sandwich and a knish, then this is the place for you. Anything else...
