Lupe's Antojitos Mexican Food — Restaurant in Bernalillo

The, cashier was Stretched Hard!!!! Doesn't, quite understand English.... The, breakfast food was YUMMY!!!!! ...... IT'S, THE PRINCIPLE. NO, SIGNS TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS.... Also, NEVER OPEN. ALWAYS, 4-5 LATE. SECOND, TIMES, MY LAST TIME... I, DON'T EAT WITH THIEVES!!!!!!!!!! But, it was my first visit so I'll update. Ok. So, Update... I, went twice.. First, Review (*Up, There) I, got 2 Sunnyside Up Eggs, Bacon &, Potatoes. No, Rice or, Beans!!! Yeah, She Tried To Force MY CHOICE.... 1. This, 2nd Trip U Ordered the Same. LIKE, OTHER PLACES THERE'S NO WAY OF KNOWING THAT THEY HAVE A CHANGE SHORTAGE THESE BUSINESSES JUST ASSUME ARROGANTLY!!!!! We'll, When She SHORTED ME MY 10¢ w/ OUT ANY EXPLANATION..... For having 4.2 stars it was a let down.

To start the restroom was dirty. It was not just filthy from the day's rush but it looked like it hadn't had a deep scrubbing since the open. I am guessing they have been around since 2010 according to an article posted on the wall.

They also were short staffed and I know this because I asked. Their excuse for not retaining staff was COVID (10/22/23).

The restaurant is warned down, and it needs some TLC.

We waited for 45 minutes for the first dish to be out. It is important to mention that the other two tables there already had their food. One dish came out first by the time the rest came the first one had been out for over 15 minutes; mean less to say that the first dish was cold by then.

The food was average, nothing special that made them stand out from other Mexican food joints.

I hope they can find staff, so that the restaurant gets cleaned and service...

Lupe's Antojitos is a small Mexican food restaurant with friendly staff and great tasting food. The wait was a bit long that day and the restaurant seemed to to be operating at a 50% reduced capacity, which is one of the reasons customers were waiting to be seated the whole time we were there.

I ordered a combination plate that included a chile relleno, a red enchilada, a piece of carne asada, and rice and beans. It was delicious! My wife tried their menudo and it was quite tasty too. The prices were fair and given the current government restrictions on restaurants, it was operating as efficiently as it could. However, it could have easily used another server as only one was working that day.

I highly recommend this place if you truly enjoy Mexican food. Remember, this is Mexican and not New Mexican food, which can taste slightly...
