This was my second stay because my first stay was a week in July this year and it was pleasant, I had no real complaints. Well I just stayed four days again and just got new neighbors and it's been non stop fighting and yelling and slamming of doors for two hours since the minute they checked in while I was outside smoking. I went to the front desk at 8:30 pm and tried to talk to Celeste about it, but she wouldn't even let me finish one sentence. She interrupted to say that she knows how many people and animals are in there when I didn't even mention it OR ask. Then she interrupted me when I said it's been going on for hours (2 to be exact, I gave them time to settle down after check in) to tell me she only checked them in an hour ago.... but it's been dark over an hour and they checked in before it even started getting dark. Then she interrupted me when I tried telling her there is dog poop in the hallway, and never GOT to tell her because she interrupted every time I opened my mouth to say anything. I asked for a manager, she literally left the office went down the hallway while I was talking and she was yelling at me "the number is right there, choose option 2." It went straight to voicemail. I went to ask about it and when I left I forgot my keys on the counter. So when I went back she was laughing about me with either another customer or coworker and then started acting fake sweet passive aggressive towards me and busted up laughing when I turned the corner, but could still see her through the open door. I tried the number she gave me again once I got back to my room and she answered the phone! I laughed and asked for the manager and Celeste actually tried to tell me that she was the manager. When I told her that I knew it was her trying to act like a manager she actually hung up on me. I had plans to stay here once a week for the next couple of months while traveling for work, but because of her behaviour I will not, and I don't recommend you do either. She acted nice when her manager was in front of her earlier today, different story when I checked in and I have a handicap placard and she told me she was putting me upstairs anyway when I reserved a handicap room since, I literally had to tell her no I can't climb the stairs TWICE and then tonight. I will say that in the last 30 minutes since leaving the office, making calls, and now writing this the neighbors have left and it's quiet now. Breakfast is oatmeal packets, only blueberry muffins, red delicious apples and coffee, tea, apple and orange juices. But not good enough to put up with this rude...
Read moreThere’s a time and a place for everything and I believe that the front desk coordinator at Super 8, in Bernalillo New Mexico, knows this all too well. From the first time I interacted with Celeste, she multi-tasked with a guest, and said “hello” to me in a voice that was pleasant and welcoming. Her relaxed demeanor and her pleasant smile is the standard, I believe, in which a person traveling all day, and just wants to take a shower and relax, that consumers would love to interact with. She goes above and beyond by helping me with directions to my room, to showing me how to “slowly” insert the keycard to enter my 168 hour “home away from home”. As a consultant, she had hit every key point that a normal guest would ask, without having to do so. As a consistent traveler and consumer relations consultant, I sincerely believe that she is the standard by which individuals should be trained and taught to lead by. I truly believe in her admiration to her job, I believe she has peoples’ best interest at heart and wholeheartedly know, first hand, that she will keep doing what she feels, is necessary, to not only engage with her guests, but to see that their experience at this establishment, that offers an “on-the go breakfast”, is truly unforgettable. From my family to yours, you are truly an asset to this business and should continue working with a beautiful smile, and a “can-do” attitude.Keep up the exemplary service, and thank you.To the rest of the staff here, A+ to all of you and keep up the good work. Any questions or concerns, follow the lead from the young lady at the counter. And yes, I will need a wake up...
Read moreupdate We stayed in the exact same room and climate control was great this time. It must have been broken and is fixed now. The front desk worker (Bea) remembered us from months ago. She remembered that we would need the sofa bed and instead of us asking for extra pillows and blankets at 1am, when we arrived, she already had it made up! I've updated my Stars to reflect her excellent customer service.
Original post: The room was 90 degrees when we walked in, and 60 when we woke up... so the climate control isn't great... but we had enough beds for all of us, it was neat and tidy and they allowed pets.
The thing that made all the difference here was the friendly front desk worker. We had spent 3 hours calling hotels trying to book something while driving across the country. Most hotels are fully booked, too expensive or didn't allow pets. We had resorted to driving through the night and sleeping in the car if it got bad. Our car was full... 2 adults, 5 kids under age 11, and 2 dogs as well as the stuff that goes with everyone. After beginning to get drowsy, we pulled off to get gas and saw this hotel. We decided to give hotels one more chance. The front desk clerk warmly welcomed us and we felt calmer already. We had given up on trying to find a room big enough for all of us and my wife was going to sleep in the car with our oldest daughter and the 2 dogs. Without knowing our story she offered exactly what we needed at a price we could afford and we were able to bring both our dogs for a small pet fee.
Her hospitality made us want to stay at more super 8 models...
