Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Bessemer

I have to say this location is the worst served food. The poorest ran kitchen at any Applebees I have had the displeasure of eating at. The waitress (McKayla) was new, her first day she said. Not a problem. She didn't think it was odd that only one soup came out at a time, 11 mins later the other soup. 20 minutes later the salad, but only one showed up then about 35 minutes later we had our appetizer! When we ask why, was only 1 item at a time being served. She, didnt know. We told her just forget the other salad. The "Caesar" salad was not a ceasar it had tons of crutons, mixed greens with roots still attached and floating in dressing dripping off side of plate. My tomato soup, again mostly crutons and was not fresh but microwaved (cooked edges stuck to the inside bowl) Our appetizer of 2 pretzels sticks were strange, dense and very rubbery, maybe they just warmed old ones up and beer cheese was verrrrry salty . It was a Sunday night, not many people were in the resturant. So, not a excusable reason for the management to serve food in this order or to present such poor quality to customers. We left the salad and 1 soup behind and walked out the door at 8:18. Apparently the only option was to pay at table because waitress never came back to check on or ask why we didnt eat the food that we waited so long to get. She had actual told us to have a good night after she disappeared. There didnt seem to be manager around unless in the back. Other than host at door no one to speak with. I would not stop in again nor recommend anyone traveling thru to do so either at 5050 Academy Lane Bessemer, Al....

Went into the restaurant to eat waited 10mins to be seated when it was not busy at all. There was a total of 6 cars in the lot. When we got to the table, we were finally seated. We waited another 10 minutes just for one someone to take our drink water. We asked for water to start off we sat the table another 10 minutes. Still do not get any water the table behind us came in 15 minutes after us.They received their drinks from the bar and their water and their regular drinks, they come over to the table and say. Oh I don't know how I forgot your drink. I made a mistake and brought the wrong drinks and I know that's not what you asked for let me go and get your drinks. Well, we were still waiting on water she proceeded to go get water. We watched her the waitress set the water on the counter at the bar and proceeded to go to other tables to Take the order of the customers that were behind us. Keep in mind they came after us and already had their water, their regular drinks and they have their drinks in the bar. So as we patiently sit it’s been like 30 minutes has passed by. We have no water did not bring us our regular drinks. She never brought us a menu so we politely got up walked out the gentleman that was at the front told us. Have a good evening, come see us again, Let's just say I will never come back to see you guys again. This Abblebee's was conveniently located right next to the hotel I had checked into. I have enjoyed Applebee's often in the past and was looking forward to enjoying a nice meal. It was terrible!! I stood at the hostess stand for close to 5 minutes without even being recognized! I walked to the bar and asked if I should just seat myself. With a bad attitude, the bartender told me to sit wherever I wanted, so I did. I sat and waited and waited while several waitstaff walked past me as if I was invisible. I finally was able to flag down a manager and asked if anyone was working in the section I seated myself in. I finally received a menu and requested water for a beverage. I ordered, and my meal was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. I had to ask my waitress for silverware which took about another 5+ minutes to arrive at which point my meal was no longer hot. I had to request salt and pepper. Nobody working at this Applebee's wanted to be there, and it showed. It is unfortunate that this one terrible Applebee's experience has ruined this brand for the rest of my life. I will never set foot in an Applebee's again. If you were planning on going to this particular Applebee's, just don't do it. I bet I get a canned response from "the owner," requesting more information about my experience, just like all the many 1 🌟 reviews. Do not go to this restaurant!!
