Let me start by saying that i don't think any business should be allowed to stay in business, if they do not take cash as payment. I recently stopped by Dolcezza in Bethesda, to pick up a pint of ice cream. When the sales clerk brought me the ice cream, and I started to retrieve cash from my purse, she told me they only accepted credit cards!
As a matter of both life style and money management, I do not use credit cards for purchases like this. She made an exception, and I did get my ice cream, and it is good. But because I offered cash, she just put it in the tip jar, and did not give me the change that I was entitled to. I don't blame the sales clerk as much as the management. Refusing to accept cash for purchases, should mean forfeiting one's right to do business with the public.
Refusing to accept cash unfairly discriminates against people of low income generally, and also against people who as a matter of lifestyle and budget management choose to pay in cash, rather than using phone apps or a credit card.
I am asking my elected representatives on the Montgomery County Council, to enact an ordinance requiring all brick and mortar businesses, including restaurants, to accept...
Read moreThis store has a lot to live up comparing it with the success of the store in DuPont circle. I have never had a bad experience there in years. Quite an amazing cup of coffee every time. Best coffee shop in dc. The store in Bethesda is quite the opposite total disregard for coffee quality.Today, I ordered a latte and a dulce de leche latte to take across the street. Lets start with the latte, the milk was not steam properly, it was cold and lacked proper texture. Basically, she just poured the shot and dumped the milk. No presentation, coffee figure or the typical aroma and sediment left by the oils of the coffee typical of other dolcezza stores. The second latte came with no dulce de leche. I have ordered the same coffee many times at other locations. She didn't even try. I saw her literally pour a little syrup , dump milk and shot on top. Not a single drop of dulce de leche or anything else. She passed me both cups in front of me, and goes back to scooping gelato. I don't understand what is happening at this store, but is quite different, and an insult to the quality of other locations. Very...
Read moreHorrible! Untrained staff!! We called to see if this location offered Nitro (from a keg) coffee. The young girl said yes. Since we were running errands we made a point to drive to Bethesda from DC. When we got there we asked for Nitro coffee, the girl looked puzzled, then asked if we wanted room for cream. Should have known then she had to clue. My husband said it sounded like the same girl that was on the phone. I was hoping for the best then saw her grab coffee in a pitcher from the refrigerator and then grab I've from the walk in cooler. She filled the glasses and set them on the counter and said "here are your cold brews". Cold Brew doesn't not mean Nitro". So the fact that we went out of the way for coffee we could get at the local Starbucks blocks away due to your lack of intelligence and uneducated staff means we will NEVER COME BACK to any location. I should have just ate the $7.00 and been more satisfied since we both dumped our coffee in the trash after...
