If you are ordering online and want avocado, it does not appear on the menu as an choice to click, so you need to order in person. Big inconvenience if you want to order by app or through the restaurant website.
In person when I have visited, the menu on the wall is hard to read because of the lighting and the dimmed monitor screen they have it on. My vision is not great, so I asked for a printed menu - they didn't have one?! Instead, they advised me to use my phone to read off from the menu to the person behind the counter. Was kinda awkward, how does a place not have a piece of paper with their own menu on it? Made me feel like I was imposing on a restaurant for asking them to give me a list of what they are selling, which is a first for me. Staff always just seems kind of aloof like they just started working there.
I would not eat at the establishment, it's meant to be more of takeout place, but at least the Bethesda Row area where the shop is located does have a lot of seating outside. It's clean inside, just had more of a convenience store feel to it because of the racks of snacks & drinks they have on the back wall. There are a few counter seats at the window, so there is at least an option to sit if you don't want to go...
Read moreTLDR: lousy customer service. Bowl never came. Hate to write this because the bowls that arrived were pretty good.
Called to place pick up order for my family and was told they would be closing at 8 and that we should arrive by 7:40 even though google said they were open till 9. Didn’t want to risk not arriving in time so instead placed an order on DoorDash around 7:30 for delivery.
DoorDash delivered 2 bowls instead of the 3 we had ordered. I called back the store right away as I thought they were about to close. The guy on the phone told me they were indeed open until 9 and that he would get DoorDash to deliver the item that was missed. I waited 30 minutes and heard nothing. I called back and asked if the delivery was on its way. The guy seemed confused but said the missed item was ready and DoorDash was coming back to pick it up and deliver. I gave the guy my phone number so he could call back to confirm it was on its way. After I heard nothing I tried calling back again before closing. No one ever answered and DoorDash never came. This all happened after a long drive back into town and deciding to order out because there was no food in the house. Spent $60, went...
Read moreHands down one of my favorite poke spots in the DMV! I don't usually venture all the way out to Bethesda, but after receiving 5+ rave reviews from my friends, I just had to make my way up north. The poke was delightful -- super fresh ingredients, delicious fish, and plenty of fun pre-made or custom options available. The menu / selection was quite standard, but you can tell that they really invested in having super high-quality ingredients.
The staff was generally super friendly and very accommodating of allergies / dietary restrictions, switching gloves / wiping down surfaces as needed and explaining what was / wasn't safe to eat. The space itself was also fun -- it's a fast-casual spot, so the restaurant was rather utilitarian, but they managed to make even the no-frills vibe quite cozy with the dimmed lighting, dark wood furniture, and giant shelf of Asian snacks. Can't wait to make my way...
