Max's Best Ice Cream — Restaurant in Bethesda

My family (7 of us) went to Max’s Best Ice Cream for the first time yesterday, and we loved it! The extreme milkshakes were huge and delicious, and they came out in a timely fashion—especially since we ordered 6 at once and there were a lot of components to put together. The shop was very clean. There was lemon water and hand sanitizer available in a central area for all as well as napkin dispensers on all the tables. Everyone—from the co-owner (who answered my email inquiry personally and so quickly!), to the manager, to the staff making and serving the desserts—was warm, welcoming, and helpful. My deafdisabled, nonverbal son tried his single scoop of black raspberry (no add-ins for him) and a huge smile lit up his face—no better review than that! And to make things even better, part of the purchase price of all sales goes to Best Buddies, in which this particular son participates through his school. Perfect for date night or any day that ends in y! I've already been here 3 times, so I guess I'm a regular?! AMAZING rich ice cream and so many flavors to choose from! As soon as I saw it was Vanderwende's ice cream from the eastern shore I was in the door. I've now had 2 of the shakes - rainbow and coffee and donuts and, while I'm a coffee guy, they were both HUGE and a terrific value, not to mention delicious! My other half had a grasshopper boozy shake and, despite not being a drinker, it may have been my favorite so far! Even "just" a scoop (I've tried cherry vanilla and mocha almond fudge) hits the spot and well worth heading into the heat for. A note about the staff - these folks are working hard! I had such a wonderful experience at Max’s Best Ice Cream in Bethesda! Last night I tried their creamy butter pecan in a double scoop, and it was absolutely delicious—smooth, rich, and perfectly nutty.

Their Green Grasshopper (Mint Chocolate Chip blended with Wondermint Schnapps and chocolate liqueur, topped with mint sticks, mint chips, hot fudge, and whipped cream) was just as incredible—refreshing yet indulgent. And the Sweet & Salty Lemon Delight (lemon cake layered with Lemon Chiffon and Vanilla ice creams, crushed saltines, candied lemons, marshmallow sauce, lemon curd, whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry) was a masterpiece—tangy, sweet, salty, and completely unique.
