This place is simply wonderful. Friendly staff, courteous and helpful. The food is the best Mexican fair in the Lehigh Valley and comes with a generous portion. The red sauce is the best I have had in my 60 years of eating Mexican food. The green sauce is equally flavorful. Our food arrived in good time and more than met our expectations. My dining companion was very pleased with her Chile Reno the best she's had and she's been to Mexico! The decor is warm, cozy and very pleasing to be in. The icons, murals, vases, and other quaint items make you feel as if you are enjoying a meal in a Mexican friends home. I literally wanted to start the meal over again! You can purchase menu items separately or on platters. There is a good representation of burritos, tacos, enchiladas, etc. Now the location. The South side of Bethlehem has become the place in Bethlehem to go for varied food choices with many different cultures being represented much to this reviewer's delight. This gem sits on the corner right after you get over the bridge (on a nice day it's a pleasant walk over the bridge). An all around...

So I wanted to love this place, and based on the reviews I was excited to try it. My husband and I went on a Friday night. We ordered a chicken chimichanga and shrimp fajitas to share. The food was okay. The chimichanga was full of rice, some beans and chicken. A lot more rice than anything, I guess to perhaps cut back on cost and it was pan fried, not deep fried, so it was okay, but I would not order it again. The shrimp fajitas had 6 shrimp and was mostly onions and peppers, the additions came out in small plastic containers so there was enough for really two nice sized tacos, but we stretched it to four. We were underwhelmed, and for the price it was not worth it. The server was nice, but never came back after dropping off the food so I went to the counter to get extra napkins. We won't return, the people working there were nice, and a lot of order for Uber eats and the like were being picked up while we were there. The fajitas came in a really nice sauce, but I can cook onions and peppers and home and add six shrimp for a fraction of the cost. Not sure why this has gotten such...

By far the worst people you could ever come in contact with so I would not trust them with your food!!! Jose and Rafaela his wife rented us an apartment within the first week noticed cockroaches. When asked to exterminate he refused, on top of that there was mold throughout the unit badly to the point I was having asthma attacks daily and could not breathe and tried everything to clean it. Jose failed inspection twice. Still did not fix anything but raised our rent $100. I don't think the new people in there pay nearly as much it felt personal. I wouldn't rent from him and trust him preparing your food. If he cuts corners with apartments he cuts corners elsewhere. Keep in mind we were customers for over 10 years at la lupita. I did notice stomach pain every time after I left there as well. Just a heads up. Take it at your own risk, but I don't trust these sheisty owners!!! Plenty of other good Spanish restaurants around to never have to eat from them. They should be investigated for health reasons... He shouldn't be a crook and be allowed to get away with...

I had high hopes for this place. I was a bit let down though. I expected more flavor for being an authentic Mexican restaurant. It’s definitely not the worst but didn’t meet the bar with flavor. I had the chicken tostadas, the beef nachos, and chicken flautas. The chicken from the tostadas was juicy but lacked flavor. It seemed bland to me and to a friend that I shared with. We both agreed on that. The beef nachos were good. I probably enjoyed it the most. The flautas had good flavor but maybe fried a little too long for my liking. I felt as if it was over fried. I did not hate any of these but I wanted more from the flavor. I also tired they home made hot sauce which was very spicey but had a really good flavor! I put it on everything and it made it more palatable for me.

Having endured numerous “Mexican restaurants“ that are really American restaurants in disguise I was delighted that this is the “real deal“. The tacos that I had had doubled tortillas, which is nice because they don’t fall apart. I had chorizo and Tinga. The flavor was excellent. I also had a bowl of Menudo. Everybody makes their menudo differently. It wasn’t too bad. The tripe was cut up into small squares , which made it easier to eat. Unfortunately I found the soup tasting more like Manhattan clam chowder. I was there with seven other people and they all enjoyed their meals. I definitely recommend this place.

Not the most amazing Mexican food we’ve had in Bethlehem but certainly wasn’t the worst. El Grande Burrito was rather bland and the rectangular plates make for an awkward eating experience. The best thing we had were the street tacos, I would highly recommend ordering 2-3 per person and making that your delicious meal choice. The staff is friendly and quick, the atmosphere is authentic and comfortable.
