Floor manager attempted to confront me in front of my 2 year old daughter on the way out. Insisted everyone else leave the front of the restaurant. Did not appear to realize he was trying to compensate for his small stature in front of a toddler.
Party of 6 ordered a small app and entrees. Server failed to provide plates for the app. I got them myself.
5 entrees showed. Took 5 mins for server to notice they served the table and forgot an entree.
At this point, the magic begins: Five minutes pass before server notices the missing entree. No big deal. Server assures table that missing entree is on way.
Fifteen additional minutes pass. Everyone else is finishing. No 6th entree. At this point I approach a busperson and ask them to cancel the entree and confirm with me. We have a 7pm appointment and I do not have time to eat anymore.
Server immediately brings a salmon entree that smells suspicious from 3 ft away. I simply wave them away and say I do not want the entree. Would you eat an entree that appeared magically only after you cancelled it and smells? Server throws a fit and calls me out of line. Still, no biggie. Remove the item from the check, take the L. Move on. I can get dinner later.
Server brings check and throws it into leftover food. Yuck. But quickly realizes that I am paying for the table and bucks up. However, I zero the tip. Poor performance across the board. Server then makes a scene and says some unintelligible things about "glad I made my thoughts clear." Okay, cool. Dealing with some mental illness here. Still having a great night.
Manager comes up and offers an excuse. Okay? Cool? I'd like to leave.
On the way out, same manager (owner? I dk) stops our party and says they'd like to hear "both sides." We inform them that we have a 7pm appointment and need to leave. Manager attempts to waive other members of our part away "you can leave." I am holding my toddler.
He insists that I "berated" his server and bus-person. In front of my toddler. But doesn't appear to have any desired outcome. I look down at his bald spot 6" below me and say "I need to go, we have to be somewhere at 7." He insists on continuing to lecture. Finally I simply tell him I have no intention of returning.
Who attempts to provoke a customer attempting to leave? I could not have cared less about the missed dinner. What was this guy's goal? Why is he so short? Why did he insist on doing this while I was holding my toddler's hand?
Visit at your own risk. Salmon stinks. Staff...
Read moreFirst, we absolutely love that the whole family can eat there. The more "everybody eats" restaurants there are, the better.
My wife is vegan. I have been vegetarian for over 30 years and I have been dealing with celiac for a little over 10 years. This isn't the only reason we have repeatedly gone to Rev's, though. My five year old is picky and for whatever reasons she loves her pasta and fries here best. She doesn't have celiac and she is not a vegan. We all eat differently.
I can't grant five stars though, for some very easily correctable reasons.
First, as a celiac and vegetarian I have to ask for two menus, because one is for Gluten Free and the other for Vegetarians and then I have to cross-reference. My suggestion is to have just a single menu for all and put symbols or abbreviations next to the menu items that can be available for various diets. While I love having accurate labels, I'm beginning to dislike the "special menu" experience as well. Make me feel included, not separate .
Second, please add a gluten free fryer for fries.
But, most importantly, it is past time you've updated your gluten free pizza crust recipe. Even basic neighborhood pizza take out joints are surpassing your own GF crust. So, as much as I appreciate that you have it, it now ranks towards the bottom. I can't justify spending that much on it anymore.
And a reminder to all wait staff, I am not vegan because my wife is vegan and she is not gluten free because I have celiac. Other restaurants make these assumptions too, but the last time we went in was served a vegan pizza after specifically asking for one with the house cheese. They made it right and even comp'd the pizza -- the service is great -- I think all restaurants need to work on this part.
And one last thing - adding a beyond or impossible burger to sub out for an upcharge would be easy and appreciated as well.
Thanks for listening. We will...
Read moreWe went with friends for lunch before going ro see the Christmas Carol at the NSMT. I got the Hot Honey Chicken Tacos. You couldn't taste the hot honey at all and there was no spice usually with hot honey. My husband got the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. The bun was cut unevenly so the bottom kept falling apart while he was eating it and it hardly had any spice from the Nashville Hot sauce. Our friends got the Buffalo Mac & Cheese which he loved and our other friend had the Potato chip crusted Fish sandwich. She had the same issue with the bun being cut unevenly therefore the fish and bottom bun kept falling apart and onto her plate making the sandwich extremely messy to eat. Our server was extremely nice and recommend the churros for dessert that came with this awesome chocolate sauce for dipping (highly recommend). All and all our experience was great just wish items that were supposed to have spice actually had that nose dripping spice that was expected and that the buns were a bit sturdier for the proteins they were served with. Definitely will be back, there are lots more options I can't...
