Broken Spoke Bar & Casino — Restaurant in Big Sky

My friends and I went to this bar to celebrate a bachelorette party this last weekend. The night was going well and we were enjoying ourselves at the broken spoke. My friend and I went up to the bar to order another drink. I ordered my friends drink then asked for a drink and the bartender got rude and yelled at me because he couldn’t hear me. I spoke louder he made me my drink I paid for the beer and drink but did not leave him a tip because he was so rude about not hearing me. We went back to our table I blew it off I knew they were busy and it wasn’t a big deal. Well when I went back up to order the bachelorette a beer about 30 mins later I was standing at the end of the bar and the bar tender was clearly ignoring me so I moved closer to the middle. He walked past me and said “You stiffed me, I’m not serving you.” And walked away. The guy that was sitting at the bar next to me turned and said did he really just say that. I said I think so and stood there waiting for him to come back by so I could ask how I “stiffed” him. A minute went by he walks up and says “You stuffed me, I’m not serving you. Fu*k you.” The guy next me was even more appalled and said well I guess I won’t be tipping him anymore. I said yeah and I guess my party and I will be going to the next bar and NEVER coming back to the broken wheel. Which is a bummer cause I have had a lot of good experiences in that bar but this one has ruined it for me. I usually don’t post reviews but this has had me bothered for a couple days. I don’t understand how if you are in customer service you can treat someone so badly and not care. Last I checked a tip is what you get when you give good service.

8/21/2018 RESPONSE TO OWNER- WE WERE AT THE BAR THE NIGHT...

Going to start out by saying I never write reviews, especially bad reviews at that. What I witnessed happen at the broken spoke was apalling. With that said, the story is, a man that was at the table next to me was wearing a ball hat that said “make America great again”. He was not bothering anyone and he was enjoying a good time with what appeared to be his friends. For no reason the man dj’ing karaoke that was employed by The Broken Spoke gets on the mic and announces (yells) to the entire bar that (and I quote) “the douche bag wearing the Donald trump hat needed to get the f* out of his bar” he then proceeded to scream f* Donald Trump repeatedly. Now, I am not big into politics. No Donald Trump supporter. However, kicking someone out of your bar for wearing a hat he choses to wear is sickening. Especially in the way that he did it. A night that was supposed to be a fun night out, on vacation, with friends that I had invited on vacation, turned terrible and was ruined.

**UPDATE... 8-7-18 the owner of this establishment has contacted me and has apologized and asked that I remove my review. Which I accept his apology and I appreciate him reaching out, it doesn’t change what happened while hosting my friends on vacation. I truly hope he has taken the proper steps to make sure nothing like this happens at this restaurant...

I was excited to come by Monday night because karaoke is usually fun! I was confused when the lights were on and there was no music at 10:15. When I asked why there was a cover charge genuinely wondering if there was something special happening, the bouncer at the front door was very rude for no reason. I had no problem paying the cover, but the attitude of the doorman was so awful I just left. I have been there many times a really enjoyed it! But tonight was really disappointing and concerning. I hope this doesn’t become the normal for broken spoke or they will lose a lot...
