Doe's Eat Place Inside Margaritaville in Biloxi On the 3rd floor (go up 2 sets of escalators)
Early Bday dinner date night š We FINALLY tried Doe's Eat Place and it definitely lived up to every amazing review and recommendation that was given in a local foodies group. We made reservations for 6:45 and arrived 10 min early. We were greeted immediately with smiles, they got our reservation pulled up and sat us immediately. Atmosphere was perfect for either a casual night out or a nice date night. Everything was clean and though it's a large open space it wasn't loud. Personally I feel they have an amazing selection on their menu and it made it difficult to choose where I wanted to start but then I saw their version of a French onion soup that includes filet tips. Seriously the BEST French onion soup I've ever had. I just got a cup but instantly had regrets not getting the bowl. I will go back JUST for that soup alone 𤤠My husband had the 2.5 lb Porterhouse which had the perfect char, I had the filet which was so tender it literally melted with each bite. Both were cooked perfectly, mine being med rare and his medium due to the cut. The menu offered so many amazing sides that we couldn't decide so we ordered 4 total lol. Side note... We skipped lunch and refused to eat because we wanted to make sure we could try new things. Not sure if that was a good idea, kinda like grocery shopping on an empty stomach š«£ I had the Mac n Cheese and Fried okra. The Mac n Cheese took me a minute because I can taste the sharp cheddar but then there's another cheese that stands out but I can't quite put my finger on it. It was very good, not overly done and very light. The fried okra was perfect especially considering I am pretty picky when it comes to how I like my okra. It can't be soggy or undercooked and must have the perfect amount of crunch without being overly breaded. The only adjustment I had to make was adding a pinch of salt. My husband had their grilled asparagus and twice baked potato which he was happy with both. Everything was perfect down to the service. We definitely will be going back and highly recommend it. Also, they do offer a nice kids menu. The main Menu is al la carte and pricing is on point for the quality and cuts. Overall with tip (we always leave a minimum of 25% or more) we spent 200.00 on an amazing and unforgettable meal. That being said we did go all out being a celebration and date night. Sides (priced from $7-$10 each) could easily be shared allowing 2 generous portions and the 2.5 lb Porterhouse ($68) could easily feed 2 or even 3 people lol. Needless to say, we have leftovers for at least 2 more meals. Overall for pricing they do offer options I would think would fit many budgets depending on the meal so definitely check...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAm staying at the Margaritaville Hotel in Biloxi and heard that this restaurant was "high end" for steaks and other items. Reviewed the menu and thought I'd give it a try. Went in sat at the bar where Stacy was the bartender. She's great! This review is not about her. Anyway, being as this is supposed to be a good steak location and the prices adhere to that concept I'd expected to get a good bottle of wine to pair with a great steak! Well.....not happening. Their selection consisted of plastic bottle wine, some swill they consider a house wine "39 line" or something like that, and a very lackluster selection of whites. THE "Best" they had was standard Quill Cab out of Napa and standard Charles Krug Merlot out of Napa. Both low-mid end wines at $68 per bottle. If I'm going to pay $50-$80 for a steak, I want a selection of may Silver Oak Cab (Napa, not Alexander Valley), Caymus, Duckhorn, Stags Leap, etc.....all well known wines that would sell at a place selling $75 steaks. On top of this, their wine glasses belong in a Chili's! Tiny, port like glasses. Crazy. Lastly, I did order the grilled shrimp while sipping my swill wine, and they were the tiniest shrimp you could and weren't local (6 for $14) and 2 pieces of bread. Needless to say, I wasn't interested in wasting anymore $ at this establishment so I went to BR Prime at the Beau Rivage and had a nice steak and lobster dinner w/Stags Leap SLV....dinner and wine $400 was well worth it! Anyway, the only reason this gets 2 stars is Stacy and the rest of the staff that I interacted...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was torn between giving three or four stars. If I was to base it off of the food alone I would choose three stars. However, the service we experienced was good, so that is why I settled on four stars. We started out with some cocktails. My wife had a cocktail called something like "Elvis TCB Cocktail" which she really enjoyed. I had an old fashioned, which was good. We ordered the tamales as our appetizer. I am a bit of a stickler for tamales, being that I grew up in the "tamale trail" and have had some of the best tamales that there is. The tamales at Doe's was pretty good. My wife ordered the redfish oscar, I ordered the 12oz filet with a blue cheese topping and crabmeat, and we shared an order to the house mac and cheese. My wife said her redfish was good, but it was kind of a small portion. Really could have been better to have another piece of fish for the price that was paid. My steak was okay. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it wasn't bad either. The house mac and cheese was a little underwhelming. Again, it wasn't bad, but wasn't really special either. Overall, it was an okay experience, but for the price that we paid I would have expected more, especially since we have had better at other local similar restaurants at the same price range. The service that we received was really good, which was why I gave it four stars instead of three. Not saying that you shouldn't try it, but we were not "wowed" by our experience enough to say that we would go...
