From the start at this location today, it was a bad taste in my mouth. Pun intended.
The ALMOST good news is, they have a military discount. The flip side to that is this military discount only applies if you have their player card. Which is weird, I didn’t need the same player card to join the military or wear the uniform. This may be the dumbest option I’ve seen a casino or buffet… EVER. I asked twice to make sure I heard it accurately. The other casinos that have a “similar rule” still ignore it in honor of those who served. Which I respect far more now after visiting the Treasure Bay.
The local Chinese buffet has a military discount, and not once have I been asked to show my Passport to apply said discount. I’m military, regardless of the location. Had I not been going with my wife and friends; I would have left then and there. Disrespectful to my service with that nonsense.
Once this hurdle was cleared, we were escorted to our table. LITERALLY every buffet we’ve been to locally are bigger than the “Infinity” Buffet at the Treasure Bay. For the cost they are charging, they should be embarrassed. The Treasure Bay advertises: “…an endless selection of dishes…” Beau Rivage Buffet, Island View Buffet, local Chinese Buffets, Gold Coral, almost any other buffet in the area has more options than the Treasure Bay’s Infinity Buffet. The cost doesn’t remotely reflect what you’re getting.
Again, ridiculous.
After the 2.5 second walk to see the options, which we could see from standing at our table and not even turning our heads, we grab plates to eat. There was no “beef” carving. It was Turkey or Sausage. The turkey LITERALLY tasted like it came from a can, not good. The “pasta” is all premade… complete with noodles, sauce, and cheese. -- So, for my wife and others like her with a cheese allergy – to bad, NO PASTA FOR YOU! The ribs were dry and completely unseasoned. You could add BBQ sauce, but there was absolutely zero flavor beyond that. The best thing we ate collectively was the BBQ chicken and the fried chicken. Which was average at best. However, when compared to the other options, average was “amazing”.
All in all, the Infinity Buffet is the bottom of the Barrel for a Buffet selection while overcharging compared to the bulk of their competition with similar offerings. We have no reason to be back at all, nor any motivation based on today’s experience from literally...
Read moreI'm not one to normally write online reviews, but I felt the need to after experiencing the Infinity Buffet yesterday. First I would like to say that we chose to eat here due to the rave reviews online. It was suppose to be a nice little birthday dinner for myself. I made a huge mistake by picking this place for my birthday dinner. I honestly cannot think of a single aspect that could be considered good during my visit. The line to get into the buffet is small with no room, after paying for the meal they instruct you to stand to the side to wait but there is no "side" the pathway into the buffet is the same pathway out of the buffet so it is cramped and congested. We were seated in the back room at a booth in the very back. Our server did not come by until after we had already made a plate of food and sat down - we were in the middle of finishing that plate of food before our server came by to even look at our ticket to see what we wanted to drink. The server eventually came back with our drinks and that was the last time we saw her during the rest of our meal - no refills, no plates taken off the table, nothing. We witness a busser literally hitting a lady with the garbage cart while she was sitting at her table eating her food. I could have looked passed all of this if the food was great, but it wasn't. The buffet is the smallest of all the casinos I have been to along the coast, and the food itself was awful. There were several items on my plate that I simply could not eat due to a lack of flavor or terrible texture. I went back to the food line several times in an attempt to try particular foods, but the whole time I was there those foods were empty and remained that way the during the length of our dinner. A worker in the buffet who was on break was idling talking with one of the workers behind the line while I was trying to get a plate of food, the worker almost bumped into me twice within a span of maybe 60 seconds due to not looking and walking backwards each way she moved while she was busy talking over the people standing in line. At one point, I witnessed a can of disinfectant spray just sitting on the counter nuzzled up right next to the hot tray of food. I wish I had something to say on the positive about my experience here for my birthday dinner, but unfortunately I left feeling that we made a mistake in picking this place to eat. I surely will not be revisiting...
Read moreI'm giving Treasure Bay's Infinity Buffet 5 stars for various reasons. Under "normal" circumstances I would probably give it a 4 or so due to the selections available at the competing buffets but alas, there are none. If you want crab this is the place to be. If you enjoy all the other items offered by buffets then you could easily find great selections elsewhere. But if it's snow crab, Dungeness crab, shrimp and crawfish then you can't possibly not be happy here. I did get placed on a wait of 1.5 hours but It was a Saturday and don't forget, they are the only ones with crab at this time, so everyone was trying to get seated. I arrived at 4pm and was finally seated at 6:15 and that was ok. Others that were attempting to get on the waitlist after 6pm were told that no more names were being added due to over 100 parties already on the wait list. Yes, of course, some people were not happy with that development but we now exist in the world of COVID and there are many factors that determine how a restaurant will function and those factors change from day to day. I was all too happy to get seated at my table for one and. I sat and enjoyed probably too much crab but hey, it was absolutely worth the wait. It's all fresh and perfectly seasoned and the people behind the buffet are all too happy to serve you what you request from them. If you wake up craving crab then i would suggest you arrive early and be prepared to wait. Be happy they have what you want and rest assured it will be great when you get seated. Be nice to the team members working that day because plenty others possibly didnt show up for work. We live in a difficult time right now. Our world of "instant gratification" has been compromised. So long as you go out into the world already knowing that then things seem to be more tolerable. And remeber to be patient, to be nice and if you dont have anything...
